This PowerPoint presentation uses a storytelling format to teach children numbers 1-20. In the story, children help a number wizard practice number spells. When they say an "izzy whizzy" rhyme and click the wizard's cauldron, a number appears. Later slides hide numbers behind "smoke" for children to identify through reasoning. During this PowerPoint, children will need access to a number fan
containing the numerals one to five.
This PowerPoint will support and encourage children to recognise
numerals one to five.
On each slide, the children will be asked to say a rhyme and click on
the cauldron to make a number appear. The numerals can be discussed
and identified. Reasoning questions are also included on each slide.
On the last few slides, the spells go wrong and the numbers are hidden
behind some clouds of smoke! Perfect for an extra challenge and to
encourage children to think about and discuss what each numeral
looks like.
