It is mypleasure to inform you that Mr. Shams Bin Quader, (employee ID: r5zoor8oo), joined North
South University (NSU) as Lecturer on May 4, 2oLS and was appointed as Assistant to the Vice
Chancellor (Faculry and Academic Affairs) on May 20, 2o1S with So% release time from his faculty
duties. He has been granted study leave from February 01, zot6 to pursue his PhD degree at the
University of Sydney, Australia.
His responsibilities as Assistant to the Vice Chancellor (Faculty and Academic Affairs) were:
o Maintaining liaison with the Faculty HR section: drafting faculty offer letters and contracts;
and verifying credentials and qualifications of some potential candidates for faculty positions
and day to day works related with faculty and academic affairs as deemed necessary by the
Vice Chancellor.
. Drafting and distributing office orders, print and email correspondences (both national and
international).
. Drafting or copy editing the Vice Chancellor's messages and speeches"
. Copy editing meeting minutes of the Office of the Vice Chancellor.
. Providing appropriate customer service and relationship management, to both NSU faculties
and students while dealing with various issues relevant to the Office of the Vice Chancellor,
via face-to-face, phone and email correspondence.
. Maintaining liaison with all the Deans and Department Chairs regarding faculty and
academic matters, as per the instructions of the Vice Chancellor.
o Maintaining liaison with various local media outlets: updating and sharing news &
information regarding the Vice Chancellor; monitoring local media and updating the Vice
Chancellor with relevant information and forwarding news involving the Vice Chancellor to
the University PR Office for sharing and archiving.
. Being a member of the Admissions Committee (under supervision of the Vice Chancellor),
which is responsible for curriculum and content design, assessment design, setting passing
criteria for NSU admission exam, and processing of student admission applications.
. Being the Team Leader of 3 senior officers and 3 officers, working under Office of the Vice
Chancellor.
I have worked very closelywith Shams Bin Quader from June 2015 till January zo16. During this
short period of time, Shams has proved to be excellent in the following essential skills; verbal and
written communication, team leadership, HR management, meeting & schedule management and
customer service. He is one of the hardest working, efficient, intelligent, independent thinking and
ethical professional I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I wish Shams Bin Quader all the
best for his PhD candidateship and for all his future endeavors.
