The National Security Guard (NSG) is an Indian special forces unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Formed in 1984, it has over 7,500 personnel. The NSG aims to counter terrorist threats nationally and internationally through operations such as hostage rescue and bomb disposal. Headquartered in New Delhi, it trains personnel for 14 months to develop skills in neutralizing terrorist threats. The NSG has regional hubs in major cities and uses specialized equipment like night vision devices, wall surveillance radars, and thermal imaging cameras. It has conducted operations domestically against terrorist attacks.
