Matter is everything around us that
ocuppies space.
Trees, people, air and water are matter.
There are different types of matter.
Each type is called a substance.
Water, wood and air are substances.
Some things are not matter.
Light, sound, music or thoughts are not matter
PROPERTIES OF MATTER
All matter has these properties:
MASS
- It is the amount of matter in an object.
- We measure it in grams (g) or kilograms (kg).
VOLUME
- It is the amount of space that an object occupy.
- We measure it in litres (l).
STATES OF MATTER
Matter can exist in three states: solid, liquid and
gas.
- Solids have a fixed shape.
- Solids have a fixed volumen.
- Liquids do not have a fixed shape.
- Liquids have a fixed volumen.
- Gases do not have a fixed shape.
- Gases do not have a fixed volumen.
