• Herbivores They eat grass, fruits and vegetables (horse)
Carnivores They eat meat and fish (eagle)
Omnivores They eat all food: meat, fruits, fish, vegetables
and grass (humans, pig)
• Vertebrates They have bones (humans, cat)/Invertebrates
They have not bones (crab, fly)
• Viviparous They born from their mother´s womb (humans,
dolphin)/Oviparous They born from eggs (birds, crocodile,)
4. VERTEBRATE ANIMALS
• Mammals:
- Mammals born from their mother´s womb.
- They drink theirs mother´s milk.
- Their bodies are covered with hair.
Lion, elephant, cow, monkey, wolf, humans,
dolphin, bat.
5. • Birds:
- Birds can be herbivores, carnivores or
omnivores.
- Their bodies are covered with feathers.
- Birds are born from eggs.
Eagle, penguin, chicken, duck, parrot, ostrich,
turkey.
6. • Reptiles:
- They are vertebrates.
- Their bodies are covered with scales.
- They are born from eggs.
- They crawl.
Crocodile, iguana, tortoise, lizard, snakes.
7. • Fish:
- It is a vertebrate.
- Its body is covered with scales.
- The fish is born from eggs.
- It swims using its fins.
- Fish can live in the sea, in the ocean or in
rivers and lakes.

8. • Amphibians:
- They are born from eggs.
- They have bare skin. They haven´t got
scales, hair or feathers.
- First, they live in water and then they can
live on land.
- Frog, toad, salamander.
9. INVERTEBRATE
ANIMAL- These animals have not bones.
- Insects are invertebrates. Butterflies, ants,
flies, beetles are insects.
- Snails and warms are invertebrates. But they
are not insects.
10. • Arthropods
- They have an external skeleton, exoskeleton.
Crustaceans (crab), myriapods (centipede),
insects (grasshoper) and arachnids (spider).

- There are three subgroups:
