Pitch.
“Irreparabilis”

“ We will create our history”
A surreal faux-documentary inspired by short films like :-
“Lovely monster”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRIhzAt3iHo
and “Big Society”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geq4MHsoH4Y

I came up with the story after seeing a picture of a decapitated man sitting
in a chair whilst his head is in a washing machine. I wrote a basic script
and then reading it back realised its clearly influenced by the Michel
Gondry film written by Charlie Kaufman “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless
Mind”

mind/
The film will have a washed out look and make use of grey and faded blue
colours. Will be shot like a very cinematic documentary like the short film -
“Undressing My Mother”
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450518/

It’ll have a menacing, constantly building fear to it; Whilst not a horror, I
want the audience to be in fear that this product exists and what it means
to mankind.

It has the possibility of a very dry dark humour.
Starts with a Dolly shot going to the left of what looks like people with no
heads in a laundrette. Then cut to a ridiculous, over-the-top American like
advert which is advertising “Throw away boring old memories, Bring in the
new!” followed by title then cut to a shot of the sign out front of the
laundrette, its called “irreparabalis”, voiceover for a few seconds on this shot
then cut to the woman speaking, interviews with few different people saying
why they want to lose their memories. Its ridiculous moronic reasons like
“Bored” “I want more space” “It’s the new craze” so on, so forth. Silence as
there’s shots of people in the laundrette without a head, washing machines
and what not and then the final shot of this sequence is a head rolling around
a washing machine/tumble drier. Then there’s footage of the creator at a
conference unveiling it akin to Apple unveilings, talking about this incredible
step forward for mankind and what not which is broken up with interviews
with people saying reasons why like “I don’t want to know I have a son” “I
want to forget her” “ I want to forget what he did, so we can move forward”
etc. It then ends with the unveiling where the creator says “We will create our
history”.
