How They Form.
● Waterfalls form when melt water drops over the
edge of a tabular iceberg or ice shelf.
● Waterfalls are commonly formed when a river is
    young.
● As the watercourse increases its velocity at the edge
of the waterfall, it takes material from the riverbed.
● Often over time, the waterfall will recede back to
form a gorge downstream as it recedes upstream,
and it will carve deeper into the ridge above it.
What w erf al l s do.
               at do
● Waterfalls pick up rocks from the ground and drops
them at the bottom of the waterfall and then that forms
    a fan.
● They also cause death for people, because sometimes
people slip or fall down the waterfall and when they fall
    they die at the bottom.
● Waterfalls are like sandpaper to the base (floor). They
scrape off the layer of for example rock. Very slowly the
water (rushing down from the top of the waterfall)
scrapes off the base of the rock. The base gets smaller
and smaller until there is nothing left.
Facts About Water falls.
● Waterfalls form when they are young
● The roar from Victoria Falls can be heard 40 km away.
● The world's tallest waterfall is Angel Falls, in Venezuela. Its
water plunges 3,212 feet (979 meters).
● There’s a waterfall in Minnesota where the water
disappears into a hole and nobody knows where it goes.
● Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world and is
    more than a mile long.
● Widest waterfall is Khone Falls stretch 6.7 miles (10.8
kilometres) across the Mekong River, stopping river traffic
    at the Laos-Cambodia border.
