their math skills by giving them a maximum dollar amount that they can request for Christmas gifts. Then, have
him/her create a tentative wish list that consists of price(s) and a total that does not go over the maximum amount.
Allow them to look through newspaper ads, online websites, and store catalogues for gift ideas. [Note: This will also
help you stay on budget this holiday season.]

* Religion- Happy New Year! Yes, it is the beginning of the liturgical year in the Church. We are now in
the season of Advent. Next time you go to Mass, pay close attention to the colors of the decorations and
vestments being used. When else are these colors used by the Church?
* Music- It's obvious that Christmas songs are already being played by many radio stations. An interesting
activity for you to do would be to listen to the same song sung by different artists. Note the similarities and
differences between how they perform it. Do you like one more than another? Why? This would be a good
discussion on styles and preference of music.
