Bouchet’s Mission Statement
At Bouchet Math and Science
Academy, our mission begins with
the premise that all of our efforts,
resources, and talents are directed
at producing a child of the
millennium. In order to achieve
this, we realize that we will need to
accomplish three goals:
-Increase student achievement in
reading and math.
-Educate and train teachers,
paraprofessionals and parents
giving them state of the art tools
and methods.
-Acquire extra services and
resources by forming cooperative
partnerships with universities,
libraries and businesses.
Bouchet’s Motivational Concert
(Jawan Harris)
On Tuesday November 23, 2010 the students at Bouchet were rewarded with
a surprise concert. The students were rewarded with a concert to encourage them
to work hard and to believe in themselves. The concert was entertaining and
motivational. Jive Records newest R&B sensation Jawan Harris performed for
Bouchet’s student body.
Opening acts included local artist Shortie Mac and Nu Nu. The concert took
place in Bouchet’s assembly hall. Bouchet’s students danced and sung in and out
of their seats. Students were called to the stage to free style rap. Honestee Johnson
from Mrs. Love’s 5th
grade class rapped and blew up the stage! She showed
everyone in the assembly hall that girls can rap and do it well. Bouchet’s students
were appreciative of the concert. Bouchet’s students were excited that their
principal Mrs. Sims rewarded them with the entertaining gift.
Kids ID Program
Chicago's Kids Identification Systems (KIDS) is a service provided by the City
Clerk's office. As the official record keeper of City government, the Clerk's
office has launched this high-tech system to keep track of the most
important records of all -- our children. KIDS works by taking digital
picture of children along with information provided by the parents. This
information is stored securely in the Clerk's office to be used only when
police and the family report that a child is missing. Then the information
can be posted on the Internet and distributed to law enforcement, the
media and other search groups.
Parents receive an ID card with their child's picture and fingerprint using new,
inkless technology. On the ID card is a telephone number to call after
reporting a missing child to police. Once activated, the KIDS program can
produce a document containing the child's picture and biographical and
descriptive information. This service is free to Chicago parents. (Article
from City Clerks website)
The Kids ID program will be on site at Bouchet Math & Science Academy on
Wednesday December 1, 2010 from 8:30am- until finished.
