The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City. It was built between 1870 and 1883 and was the largest suspension bridge in the world when it opened. The Empire State Building opened on May 1, 1931 and was activated by President Hoover from Washington. It was the tallest building until the twin towers of the World Trade Center were built.
