This upcoming academic term marks RUAS’

The Ryerson University Accounting Society (RUAS) is
one of the most active and popular student groups on
campus. We cater to over 1,300 full and part time
accounting majors within the Ted Rogers School of
Management (TRSM). In addition, RUAS is excited to
welcome over 300 new students enrolled in the new
School of Accounting Finance.
To represent the student body, RUAS has an
executive team of twenty dedicated leaders with a
broad range of skills and capabilities, all
complementing one another to generate a strong
team. Our goals and objectives are united— to
improve the lives, experiences, and potential of all
Ryerson’s accounting students.
In addition to our committed executive team, RUAS
also receives support from alumni and faculty
advisement to assist in our day-to-day operations and
strategic planning.
The TRSM strives for continual growth and
improvement to match students’ capabilities with
employers’ needs. In 2011 the TRSM obtained
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
(AACSB) accreditation. This was a milestone for
TRSM as only 5% of the world’s top business schools
hold the AACSB accreditation.

OUR EVENTS
Recruitment Boot Camp is a one day event
targeted towards 2nd

provide them with the proper tools such as, how
to create a resume, business etiquette, and
networking skills to succeed in the real world.
With the guidance of our sponsors, you have the
chance to successfully develop the perfect
candidates to represent your firm.
Recruitment Boot Camp - August 18th
Last year, 71 students attended our annual
Alumni Gala at the King Edward Hotel for a
fun filled night to mix and mingle with Ryerson
alumni. With the 1:1 ratio this gives our
sponsors an opportunity to discuss some of
the changes going on within the accounting
program and gives our students an insight as
to the opportunities their future holds coming
out of Ryerson.
Alumni Gala – November 19th
Volunteer Day is a great opportunity for
the Ryerson community and our
sponsors to give back to those in need
by spending the day at a local charity of
our choice. The event host 15 promising
candidates who go through a resume
screenings process to connect with firm
representatives in a relaxed setting.

The Achieve Conference is our largest event of
the year where 76 delegates from all over
Canada had the chance to compete in a two-

wide range of universities; analyzing their
technical and soft skills through case cutting,
presentations, networking, and workshops
hosted by our sponsors.

A highly successful and popular event
that was started four years ago,
which is open to all accounting

Students will be able to interact with
guest speakers from various firms
and have the opportunity to network
