Personal Statement.
I’m a highly motivated, driven, committed and enthusiastic individual who has good organisational and leadership skills. I
have considerable experience in all aspects of Health and Safety management, including fire, asbestos, machinery,
premises, personal and task risk assessments, PPE requirements and manual handling assessments and tuition. I have a
proven track record of implementing change and new processes. I possess high quality IT skills - Microsoft Office suite,
Outlook and Powerpoint as well as excellent communication skills verbal and written, with vast experience of a customer
focussed services.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
Health and Safety.
● I was the responsible person and the first point of contact for all Managers and staff who had any queries relating
to health and safety matters and legislation.
● I monitored, managed and produced various systems of risk management - SIRS, SARS, Incident reporting
system, RIDDOR reporting and Sentinel and Ulysses reporting systems.
● I have developed policies and procedures relating to the health and safety of the staff, patient and the
organisation.
● I was responsible for generating and investigation accident reports for reportable accidents/incidents and
provided recommendations to prevent a reoccurrence.
● Advise on the drawing up and implementation of Safe Systems of Work, Safety Plans and the provision and
use of appropriate protective equipment.
● Carry out periodic inspections to identify unsafe plant, unsafe working conditions and unsafe working
practices. Report on the result of such inspections and make recommendations to remedy any defects found.
● I specialised in the drawing up and implementation of Safe Systems of Work, Safety Plans and the provision
and use of appropriate protective equipment.
● I would Promote and, where appropriate facilitate any safety training programmes.
● I Carried out Ad Hoc and planned inspections to identify unsafe plant, unsafe working conditions and unsafe
working practices. Report on the result of such inspections and make recommendations to remedy any
defects found.
● It was part of my role ensure that management were supplied with accurate, thorough and specialised safety
information, enabling them to maintain safe working practices to modern day legal standards and industry
best practice.
● I Maintained an effective traceable system of dissemination of all updated, new and relevant process changes
and HSE information for all staff and visitors.
● On a monthly basis i had to compile health and safety reports for the Health and Safety Manager and board
members.
● I actively participated in the work of safety committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce.
● I Attend pre-contract meetings as and when agreed.
● It was my responsibility to maintain my own knowledge base to ensure I was up to date with new legislation,
codes of practise and any other new information from the Health and safety Executive.
People Management.
● I have a professional, proactive, practical and organised approach to all of my tasks and roles.
● I have strong communication skills enabling me to work with all levels of the business and capable of making and
recommending continuous improvements and change.
● I have a 'can do'-'will do' attitude making sure all processes introduced are achievable, organised and well
structured.
● I am able to follow and maintain working standards, procedures and processes whilst being able to use my own
initiative to provide key support to staff and management.
