2. WHAT IS NEURA LINK?
They are implantable of Brain-Machine Interfaces: building devices that
have the potential to help people with paralysis and to communicate and control
devices with their thoughts.
3. THE FOUNDERS-
• Neuralink was founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and a founding team of seven
scientists and engineers.
• They are experts in areas such as neuroscience, biochemistry and robotics.
4. THE IDEA-
• Elon Musk wants to control machines with just the power of thought.
• They had developed ultrafine ‘threads’ that wove into our brain to listen our
neurons.
• The company has also built a robot that can perform the delicate surgery,
under the supervision of a neurosurgeon.
5. THE CHIP-
• The N1- 4mm-square chip-implanted into the skull.
• chip -wires thinner than a human hair, which reach out into the brain.
These threads are placed close to important part of the brain- detect
messages as they are relayed between neurons.
• The chips connect wirelessly to a wearable device that hooks over the
user’s ear, much like a hearing aid- contains a Bluetooth radio and a
battery.
6. EXPERIMENT-
They experimented a monkey playing the video game Pong with its
mind.
Its brain signals were sent wirelessly via an implanted device.
Also, they used pigs – mission was successful in both cases.
Finally, got approval for testing on interested humans by FOOD AND
DRUG ADMINISTRATION(FDA).
7. WORKING-
The brain sends information to different parts of body using neuron
Neuron-communicate by releasing chemical signal called neurotransmitters--this
reaction generates an electric field by placing electrodes nearby you can record
these.
Electrode part of the chip read electrical signals that are produced by neurons in
the brain.
The electrodes translates it into algorithm that a computer can read
Signals –outputted in the form of an action.
8. CONCLUSIONS-
• While the technology is still in development and human trials have not yet begun,
it has promise for future medical and therapeutic applications.
• As for Neuralink, this is a technology with potential and dangers at the same time.
The only thing we can do is hope that Elon Musk will be able to use it really for
the good. Or as a minimum, not to the detriment.

• People with disabilities have a higher quality of life
of life
• Human-AI communication and collaboration have improved.
10. DISADVANTAGES-
• High risk of brain injury or infection
• Abuse and misapplication are possible
• There has been little research into the long-
term effects of BCIs
• Invasion of one’s privacy
• BCI technology is expensive
• Difficulty in removing or repairing BCIs when
they fail.
