NEBOSH is an independent examining board formed in 1979 that provides health, safety, environmental and risk management qualifications. It has over 35,000 candidates annually taking exams in over 100 countries. NEBOSH offers Award, Certificate and Diploma level qualifications. The International General Certificate covers principles of health and safety, hazard identification and control, and includes three units that are each assessed separately as well as a practical workplace assessment. Exams are offered in English and other languages and take place over 2 hours, consisting of short and long answer questions that must all be answered.
