The National Map is a collaborative effort by the USGS and its partners to improve and deliver topographic data and services. It provides elevation data, imagery, hydrography, transportation and structure information, boundaries, and place names. The USGS is working to improve data resolution and integration, including developing high resolution National Hydrography Dataset and a 3D National Transportation Model integrating elevation and hydrography from lidar. The National Map offers public data access tools like the Viewer, Downloader, and Elevation Products services to support uses in mapping, flood risk assessment, and more.
