FE Report
National Committee to Protect Shipping, Roads & Railways (NCPSRR) on Tuesday urged
to reduce and adjust the fare of mass transportation in the country as the oil prices
were adjusted recently to the transport owners association.
The advisor of NCPSRR Monjurul Ahsan Khan and general secretary Ashish Kumar Dey,
Office Secretary Sheikh Shiraj Ahmed on behalf of the organization urged through a
press statement that in the past government without public hearing increased the
transport fare as asked by the transport owners’ association, said a press release.
But this time with early declaration government has adjusted the price but have not
adjusted the transport fare and kept the previous fare. The government should issue a
declaration on the adjustment of the mass transport fare in the country for the sake of
consumers.
They asked the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to take immediate
measures on the issue and create a safe and environmental friendly mass transport
system, for which the NCPSRR is demanding for long, a press release added.
