The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing over 4.5 million objects spanning 5,000 years. It was founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The museum has extensive collections of Asian art with over 160,000 objects, European paintings with over 11,000 works, and the most comprehensive collection of post-classical European sculpture in the world comprising 22,000 objects. It also houses the National Art Library containing over 750,000 items.
