Yurta
The first item that I would suggest
to take is a traditional national
house, called yurta. It was used
by nomads to have their houses
with them on long trips. During
national holidays many yurtas are
placed on the central city square.
When celebrating national new
year called “Nauriz” everybody
can taste different kind of national
food in Yurtas.
National food
“Nauriz kozhe” is a kind of
soup with 7 ingredients: water,
salt, meat and different types
of grains. National food would
be the second item I would
take. “Kazy” is a kind of horse
casing sausage. It is made of
meat placed into intestines.
Kazy is usually a part of a
national dish “Beshparmak”.
“Beshparmak” is made of
sorpa, potato, bakery dough.
National clothes and dance
My third choice would be national
cloth. People still ware them
because it is very beautiful, with
handmade accessories. There
are certain types of clothes
people ware depending on
particular occasion: for
marriages, funeral, other official
events. “Kara Zhorga” is the
famous and very popular national
dance. Many flash-mobs were
organized in different countries
with lots of people dancing “Kara
Zhorga”.
Kazakh literature
There are many great books
written by kazakh writers. “Abay
way”, written by Mukhtar Ayezov,
is no doubt the most famous and
important novel among them. It
describes the life of the great
poet, founder of kazakh written
literature, Abay Kunanbayev. The
book consists of 4 parts and
shows the life of kazakh people in
19th century, their dreams, hopes
and national character.
National Olympic team
Kazakhstan is well known for its
famous athletes. There are many
gold medalists in the modern
history of the country. Serik Sapiev
was a gold medalist on Olympic
Games in 2012. Vasiliy Zhirov has
got the Barker cube on Olympic
Games in Sidney as the most
technical fighter. Denis Ten is a
famous figure skater. Alexandr
Vinokurov, a famous Road Racer,
has got a gold medal on last
Olimpic Games in London.
The capital and the president
Astana is a unique capital city,
sprung up in the centre of the
country during the past two
decades. There are many
buildings designed by well-
known architects like Norman
Foster and Kisho Kurokawa. The
first president of Kazakhstan,
Nursultan Nazarbayev, leading
the country since Kazakhstan
declared its independence in
1991. He was First Secretary of
the Communist Party of the
Kazakh SSR in 1989.`
