Naseem Thebo was a renowned Sindhi short story writer from Pakistan. She was born into a landlord family in Shikarpur and received her early education in a village. She went on to earn an MA in Economics from the University of Sindh. She was inspired to write by her mother, who was the first Sindhi Pakistani female novelist, and by the Sindhi Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. Her short stories often depicted village life and the struggles of women, and were published in popular Sindhi literature journals of her time.
This novel was written by the famous Punjabi writer Gurdial Singh and later made into a film that led to its translation in English. The PowerPoint presentation analyses the work from a Postcolonial lens.
