Fragments A group of words that is not grammatically complete. It could be either missing a subject or a predicate. Subject: the doer of the action or the one in the state of being. Predicate: the verb or the verb phrase that tells something about the subject.
Narrative Rough Draft 4 Steps (in red) Write “c/b <your name>” Circle all noun and pronouns. Underline all the verbs. Highlight any of the circled words that are a subject. Bracket and Label any sentence as “Fragment” that is missing a circled highlighted word or an underlined word.
What Next? Give it back to the author. The author should show me their Narrative Rough Draft 4 as soon as it is completed to make sure it is done correctly. The author should correct any sentence that is a fragment. The Final Draft will only be turned in online.  Make sure you have an electronic copy of your final draft by 9/19.
