The author considered several name ideas for their music magazine including Treble, Harmony, Slam, and Spartan. Treble, Harmony, and Slam did not fit the theme of the magazine. Treble was too basic as it relates to music notation, Harmony fits better for a magazine about music groups, and Slam reminded the author of bands. Spartan was a unique name that fit perfectly with the magazine's theme of focusing on individual artists in the R&B genre, which features simple, minimal beats and structure.

1. Name Ideas.
I started off with a few name ideas such as Treble, Harmony, Slam and Spartan. However
most of them I did not really fit with the theme of my magazine. For example, the name
Treble seemed to typical and basic as it comes from the name ‘Treble Clef’ which is a form
of a music note. I thought the name harmony didn’t really fit in with the theme of my
magazine also as I think it fits in better with a music magazine about music groups as they
are most likely to harmonize in their music. The name slam reminded me of bands and
band and slam rhyme. This would also not fit with my music magazine as my magazine is
featured with individual artists.
Finally, the name Spartan fitted perfectly with my magazine as it’s unique so it will be
easy for my audience to distinguish my magazine from any others as the name would be
easy to remember. The name Spartan is also a connotation of the word minimal. R&B is
made up of simple minimalist beats and has a very minimal and basic structure this is why
they are so easy to remember. The fashion of R&B artists is also very minimal which will
be seen on my music artists featured on my magazine.
