FOREWORD
I Congratulate the outgoing executives and wish
them success in their future endeavours.
To the new executives, I pray that God will work
and walk with you. Please be conscious of your
positions and do not let the love of money take the
better part of you. Your academics is your primary reason of being in the
University.
Whatever you do, remember the son of whom you are. I wish you all
successful tenure of office.

It is with rare intense pleasure and ecstasy that this speech was penned. To spearhead
the successful affairs of NAEES 2017/2018 Academic Session was my utmost
satisfaction; largely because the journey down the road of this session came with its
alternating ups - which we fully capitalized on, and downs – which posed to be
challenges. However, we ceased to be deterred from achieving our set objectives.
In that wise, all glory, praise and adoration are due to almighty Allah, the Sustainer
of the Universe, who guided me through my tenure as the 11th
NAEEES president. I
want to appreciate the support and kind gesture of my H.O.D (Engr. Dr [Mrs] N.T.
Surajudeen-Bakinde), Patron (Engr. Kamil Olalekan) and all NAEEES staff advisers
(Engr. Otuoze and Engr. Usman) towards our administration. I would also like to
appreciate those who impacted me and have been the source of my inspiration - the
likes of Prof. B.J. Olufeagba, Prof. Y. A. Adediran and Dr. M.F. Akorede. I cannot
but appreciate my prolific and meritorious executives as ‘one tree does not make a
forest’. Undoubtedly, ‘The Reach for the Zenith’ is a befitting name for the
2017/2018 Executives. My profound gratitude also goes to my family for their care,
support and love over my life.
My Fellow NAEEESites, I really appreciate your cooperation and the support you
gave to our administration despite the limited resources and tensed academic
calendar. Even with that and in spite of adversities, the association was able to

Greatest NAEEESites, I want us to realize that if we hate learning, we hate life and
therefore we should always rekindle our quest for knowledge as many challenges
await us outside there! Electrical is the cynosure of Engineering, I want us to adopt
the virtue ethics in all actions we take as “what we do for ourselves dies in us but
what we do for other people lives on”! My advice is that after we might have
graduated we should always remember our source and extend our generosity
whenever we are called upon.

ACTIVITIES REPORT OF
NAEEES
1. ASSOCIATION ADMINISTRATION
• Inauguration of new Excos- The 2017/ 2018 executive members were
inaugurated on 26 September 2017. The inauguration ceremony was
graced with lecturers in the department, student union officials, faculty
president and students from the department. The incoming president
(Comr. Owolabi Yussuf Kehinde) in his acceptance speech titled
“Show NAEEES Care” charged us to raise the standard to which we
measure our achievement and reach for the zenith our aims and
objectives of the association to achieve a better NAEEES.
• Production of Letterhead- The association under the leadership of
Comr. Owolabi Yussuf Kehinde deemed it fit to procure a new
letterhead for smooth running of the association. 200 copies of
letterhead papers were made for #5,000 only.
• Production of Exco I.D. Card- The new executives of the association
needs a form of identity to present as an exco of the department this

brought the urge to produce an identity Card for the 10 excos and such
money was contributed by individuals for #4,000 naira only.
• Renewal of Association- Sequel to the directives from the office of the
dean of students affairs that all associations on campus are to
renew/register with the students affairs unit to revalidate their
registration for the session and be allowed to organize any program in
the university. Payment of #500 was made into Unilorin energy account
of Unilorin Microfinance bank and other processes to validate the
renewal was done.
• Change of Signatories- Since the tenure of the previous exco is over
and the handling over has taken place, there is need to change the
signatories to the association’s account.
• Repair of Departmental Notice Board- The departmental notice
board has been left idle since the key to open it is nowhere to be found.
Therefore, we had to find a way of breaking the lock and replace it with
a new one and repair some parts of the notice board that is not good and
rebrand it. This cost us a token of #1,350
• Renovation of the secretariat- We found it necessary to perform some
repairs of some of the electrical appliances in the secretariat, re-run and

re-network the Electrical wires, changed the Electric bulbs and
purchased electric sockets for the course. However, we could not
completely renovate the secretariat due to the constraint we had. #4,780
was spent in this course.
• Repair of Electrical Faults at 10G2 Class- The state at which we
found the class made it a call to service for us to inform the ELE’18 to
find a solution to it reason being it’s the level’s assigned class. We were
able to replace 6 fluorescent bulbs(energy saver), repaired the electrical
fault from the control room, purchased more sockets(4pcs of 3by3
sockets and 3pcs of 6by3 sockets), repaired LAN port for easy network
access, purchased a 8-port 10/100mbps LAN Switch and a padlock was
purchased to keep the class safe at night. The Treasurer of the
association coordinated the contribution and members of the class did
the workmanship.
• Purchase of new Trophy and other sporting equipment for the
HOD’s inter-level soccer competition- In preparation for the HOD’s
Inter-Level Soccer Competition, the “Reach for the Zenith” Era
purchased a new trophy, soccer ball and medals to be presented to the
winner of the Inter-level soccer competition.

• Production of Souvenirs- Souvenirs production are majorly the capital
project that the association must execute. The association produced 600
copies of 60leaves Quota size, with a thickness of 70gram, digital cover
with free gloss lamination for the students of the department. This was
produced for #120,000 @#200per one and #1,000 was spent for
transporting it to the secretariat.
• Production of NAEEES T-Shirt- The association rolled out a t-shirt
design to the public, deliberations were made on it, and the final design
was approved and produced for the members of the association at the
rate of #2,200per one.
• Constitution of League of Past Presidents- Past Presidents are a vital
part of an association, bringing a calming influence to an overly
adventurous leader or support for a struggling leader. The role of the
Past President is to ensure continuity during governance transitions and
organizational change, to help ensure the appropriate succession of
Executives, to support the President in his/her role, and to provide
continuity to the organization by providing historical context for issues.
These were put together and we were able to connect to all the past
presidents of the association on a single WhatsApp group where we
interact and talk about the success of this association.

skim off the popular Ted talks, but here, our goal is to keep to time and we have been
successful at achieving that. The talk is always a monthly program during the
semester, preferably during the mid-day of the middle week of the month.
AIM
 To make great ideas accessible and spark conversation.
 To foster the spread of great ideas
 To provide a platform for thinkers, visionaries, innovators and teachers, so
that student around can gain a better understanding of the biggest issues faced
by the world.
 To feed a desire to help create a better future
 To belief that there is no greater force for changing the world than a powerful
idea.

one of the best moment as an undergraduate and students were able to
dance round the faculty and extended such to the nearer faculties.

  • 2. 2017/2018 Annual Report A Publication of the National Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students 2 NAEEES UNILORIN FOREWORD I Congratulate the outgoing executives and wish them success in their future endeavours. To the new executives, I pray that God will work and walk with you. Please be conscious of your positions and do not let the love of money take the better part of you. Your academics is your primary reason of being in the University. Whatever you do, remember the son of whom you are. I wish you all successful tenure of office. ENGR. DR. (Mrs.) N.T. SURAJUDEEN-BAKINDE STAFF ADVISER/ HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
  • 3. 2017/2018 Annual Report A Publication of the National Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students 3 NAEEES UNILORIN It is with rare intense pleasure and ecstasy that this speech was penned. To spearhead the successful affairs of NAEES 2017/2018 Academic Session was my utmost satisfaction; largely because the journey down the road of this session came with its alternating ups - which we fully capitalized on, and downs – which posed to be challenges. However, we ceased to be deterred from achieving our set objectives. In that wise, all glory, praise and adoration are due to almighty Allah, the Sustainer of the Universe, who guided me through my tenure as the 11th NAEEES president. I want to appreciate the support and kind gesture of my H.O.D (Engr. Dr [Mrs] N.T. Surajudeen-Bakinde), Patron (Engr. Kamil Olalekan) and all NAEEES staff advisers (Engr. Otuoze and Engr. Usman) towards our administration. I would also like to appreciate those who impacted me and have been the source of my inspiration - the likes of Prof. B.J. Olufeagba, Prof. Y. A. Adediran and Dr. M.F. Akorede. I cannot but appreciate my prolific and meritorious executives as ‘one tree does not make a forest’. Undoubtedly, ‘The Reach for the Zenith’ is a befitting name for the 2017/2018 Executives. My profound gratitude also goes to my family for their care, support and love over my life. My Fellow NAEEESites, I really appreciate your cooperation and the support you gave to our administration despite the limited resources and tensed academic calendar. Even with that and in spite of adversities, the association was able to APPRECIATION FROM THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
