A Long Walk to Water
Contrast and Contradiction:
Salva thought he’d be left behind, but the group decides to
take him along even though they didn’t want to. Salva
probably reminded the woman of her own children. She
would want someone to take care of her kids. Maybe this
group will help him find his family. Not all people have
forgotten their kindness in war.
