The document discusses the ongoing conflict between North Korea and South Korea. It began when the Korean peninsula was divided after World War II, with North Korea controlled by the Soviet Union and South Korea controlled by the United States. The two countries have remained divided since the Korean War from 1950-1953. The document examines perspectives on the conflict from civilians and military personnel through an anonymous survey. Respondents generally agreed that North Korea's leadership needs to change to reduce tensions, though military personnel expressed more concern about potential war breaking out.

A critical look at the cases of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, two boys responsible for the Columbine High School massacre, and Seung-Hui Cho, responsible for the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech. After careful examination of the published literature on various topics including junior delinquency, school massacres, and the psychoanalytic perspective, it is clear that these violent incidences are logical consequences of an escapist approach to reality, undeniably prevalent in the current youth population at large.
Fantasies ("any product of the imagination"), conjured up by books, movies, games, television, internet, and drugs provide an escape away from the unsatisfactory reality, and serve as "one weapon in the war against" it. Although fantasizing can be therapeutic and creative in moderation, when one is hopelessly ill-equipped to deal with the obstacles of real life, one becomes more and more dependent on fantasies as the solution to all problems. In the case of Harris, Klebold and Cho, this dependence escalated to violent antagonization of reality. However, the maker of these young mass murderers is not violence in movies and video games, but the society that breeds a generation of escapists who need such fantasies to survive. The readymade fantasies on television – violent, sexual, and otherwise – that many criticize as the source of evil in these young people are mere symptoms of a greater phenomenon, produced to meet the overwhelming and preexisting demand for an escape.
The project is still in progress.

What are the effects of where we bury and how we view the war dead on our thoughts and feelings about war? Think, for example, about the politics around whether media share images of soldiers' coffins arriving in the US. What is the ethical argument for sharing these images? For keeping them private? Where do you side in this debate and why?

I feel like the way troops buried the war dead during past wars has made our views of war seem much more gory than we might want to think. Reading about how the troops were buried during past wars painted a vivid picture of just how violent people die during battle. I also think that this picture gives us a greater respect of people at war. Knowing how some of the bodies are never recovered goes to show how great these troops are at risk of dying when they go out to battle. An ethical argument for sharing images of solder's coffins arriving in the US is showing the country that they are being taken care of. These images provide everyone with a peaceful feeling knowing that our fallen troops are well-respected and watched after. An argument for keeping these images private could be because it shows the country just how many people don't return from war alive. Seeing the volume of caskets in a plane returning from a war zone can be unsettling for the general public. In my opinion, these images should be shared. I believe that they can bring together the country in a way. By showing everyone how the soldiers are brought back home to their families provides a sense of nationalism for people. In today's day and age I believe that camaraderie within our country would be a positive thing.

War refers to different opinions existing between two or more groups at arising conflicts resulting in loss if life. The main effects of burying the dead soldiers is a way of respecting and future generation can salute them for being the child of nation and follow peace. It is viewed in a way that they have sacrificed their lhfe with a cause to save nation and its people.
The ethical argument for sharıng image of them is it can affect the family members emotional feelings of lossing a member among them But when it comes as a spectator the dead soldiers can be honoured only by this way and taking in favour of it is good where these martvr stands as a role model for others. BIt is equally important to understand the feelings of the family to make it personal or public.

In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.

Women have three distinct types of involvement: direct involvement in terrorist acts; enabling of others to commit such acts; and facilitating the disengagement of others from violent or extremist groups.
1. NORTH KOREA VS. SOUTH KOREA CONFLICT
NICHOLAS BODLOVICK CMS 200
2. WHEN IT ALL STARTED
After World War II North Korea and South Korea
were divided into two countries. North Korea was
owned by the Soviet and South Korea was owned
by the United States.
In 1950 North Korea attacked South Korea causing
a war from 1950-1953.
Today a conflict still occurs between the two
countries and have not settled their differences.
Until North Korea gets a new leader that wants to
make a positive change in North Korea, then the
two countries can unite and be one country again.
3. WHY IS THERE CONFLICT?
“North Korea is a dictator led Communist State.
South Korea is Republic with a vibrant economy
and a strong Capitalistic structure. The two
concepts are incompatible.”
4. METHOD
I conducted an anonymous survey to view peoples
perspective on the conflict of N.Korea and S.Korea. I
wanted to know how they felt about the tension between
both countries, what they think about the tension
between them, and also what should be done in order to
maintain a peaceful balance between the countries. I
had a total of 20 people involved in the survey. Half of
the people who did the survey are currently serving in
our Military. I did a comparison survey between military
perspective and civilian perspective and I wanted to
know why they chose the answer they chose. In the
survey I also showed had a link from YouTube, about
the artillery rounds that were finding into South Korea by
North Korea, killing two South Korean Marines.
5. QUESTIONS FROM THE SURVEY (1 – 5PT
SCALE)
1. Don’t care, 2.Somewhat care, 3. Moderate,4. Agree,
5. Strongly Agree.
Question(1) Do you care about the tension between
N.Korea and S.Korea.
Question(2) Do you agree that N.Korea and S.Korea
should come into equal terms and become 1 country
again?
Question(3)Do you think North Koreas military should
turn on their leader and have a Positive figure take over
the country?
Question(4) Do you think the Media portrays a different
image on both countries?
Question(5) Do you want to go to War against N.Korea?

about both sides”.
10. ANSWER TO QUESTION 5 AVG. SCORE

Answer: “If we have to Answer: “I don’t want to
go to war, then yes I go to war, but I do have
think we should” a lot of friends who are
South Korean and are
serving in the military,
so I would want to be
there to support them.”
11. DISCUSSION
With the results, I found that both sides pretty much
have mutual feelings towards the tension between
both countries. What I noticed though from the
people who are serving in our country is that they
know more about the tensions between both
countries than people who portray it in the media
and people who think they know much about the
tension. What I found is that tension is very serious
and anything bad could happen at any given
moment. One of my friends who is stationed over
there tells me that he gets called to the “field”,
because the tension rises highly everyday and war
could happen any moment.
12. THEORY
The theory that I chose for this topic was Social
Conflict Theory. I chose social conflict theory
because it’s a theory about differences between
both sides “two different types, classes, culture, and
etc of individuals”. Since this topic is about Conflict,
this is the best theory that would described this
topic.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_conflict_theory
13. MY FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE CONFLICT
I think that the tension between both countries
should end. Most of the conflict is from North
Korea. The new leader Kim Jung Un, should
change his thoughts on the country of North Korea
and make it a better place for everybody. I don’t
want the countries to go to war because there will
be many deaths if it happens.
