Along with acne and skin aging, enlarged pores are also one skin problem that tops the list. While they are entirely a cosmetic problem, some people find it annoying, and others think they would look better if they had smaller pores.
Pores are tiny openings in the skin that releases oils and sweat. They are also connected to your hair follicles. If your pores appear more prominent, it may be because of acne, increased sebum production, sun damage, and non-comedogenic makeup.
Although you can’t change the size of your pores, here are some ways to help minimize their appearance:
Most of us head straight to our vanity tables for results of various skincare products. Processed foods or foods high in sugar and fat can cause dry skin, acne, oiliness, and dark under-eye circles. But foods packed full of superfoods and lean, high-quality proteins are best for supporting skin health.

Chemical peels are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures as they can remove signs of aging, some types of acne, and skin discoloration.
Whether you receive a chemical peel to diminish signs of aging or treat a skin condition, you can see fewer fine lines, more even skin tone, brighter complexion, and smoother skin.
If you have never had a chemical peel, you may be wondering what this treatment is. It is a type of treatment that uses chemicals including salicylic acid, glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid to peel layers of the skin, revealing healthy, new skin below. Most under eye issues occur due to bad lifestyle and laxity in care of skin around the eyes. The skin of this area is highly delicate. Most of the times, we tend to ignore this area, especially while applying moisturizer on the face.
It’s no secret that Filipinos also want to have Korean glass skin. Glass skin is a term for exceptionally smooth, crystal clear, poreless, and flawless complexion that reflects light like a piece of glass. Korean skincare is known for its groundbreaking formulations, and some are obsessed with bee venom, snail mucin, and even prompted you to google the words ampoule or essence. The question is, do you need so much product to achieve glass skin?
While some skincare trends are focused on particular products that promise instant visible results, achieving glass skin requires a multi-dimensional approach. The skin has to be very smooth, with no rough surface, lustrous, plump, and firm. Getting beautiful, most envied skin requires a consistent skincare routine such as cleanser, toner, serum, exfoliator, and a hydrating moisturizer. Because intense hydration lies at the core of the glass skin regimen, K-beauty experts recommend watery products with hyaluronic acid and glycerin.
Your skin naturally sheds dead skin cells to make room for new cells every thirty days. However, sometimes, dead skin doesn’t rid entirely, and exfoliation can help.
Exfoliating is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin using a chemical, granular substance, or an exfoliation tool.
The tricky thing about exfoliation is it can either work wonders for your skin, or it can destroy your skin barrier. While some people believe that exfoliation improves the appearance of your skin, it is not for everyone. If not done correctly, it could do more harm than good.
There are two main methods for at-home exfoliation, mechanical and chemical. Mechanical exfoliation uses a brush or sponge tool, or scrub that physically removes dead skin cells. Whereas chemical exfoliation uses chemicals such as alpha and beta hydroxy acids to gently dissolves dead skin cells.
If you choose to exfoliate, here are dermatologist-recommended tips to prevent further damage to your skin:
There are many types of acne, but the most common form occurs during the teenage years when young adults experience a dramatic increase in hormone levels. These hormones signal the skin glands to produce more oil. When this oil mixes with dead cells, it can clog pores in the skin and trap bacteria as well. The result is often a raised tissue area characterized by swelling, redness, and pus. Do you feel that you will be more attractive if you have pores that are not immensely visible? The truth is, you cannot shrink your pores permanently. But the good news is, there are ways to make them less noticeable. Much of this, you can do on your own. Here’s how:
Microblading is a semi permanent tattoo technique which involves the use of needles to give you thick luscious eye brows. Each stroke is created by hand by a trained expert to enhance and reshape the brows.A handheld tool is used instead of a tattoo machine which deposits pigment in the superficial layers of the skin that's why it lightens quickly.Initially your eyebrows might look quite dark but gradually matches the shade which goes with your skin.

We all dream of glowing and flawless skin but with tons of different skincare products and advices, which one of those do you really need?
Board-certified dermatologists are the experts when it comes to skin. Have you ever wonder what skincare tips do they use themselves to maintain healthy skin?
Below are the skincare tips that dermatologists recommend to their patients—and actually use themselves.
These days, wearing a mask is essential to protect yourself and others. However, wearing it for an extended period can sometimes be a pain — literally.
According to a Journal issued by the American Academy of Dermatology, more than one-third of frontline healthcare workers reported adverse skin reactions after wearing N95 masks daily for several months. In May 2020, they recorded the highest incidence of acne, facial itch, and rash.
Since masks are essential, whether frontliner or not, we must do whatever we can to overcome concerns about wearing them. If you find that wearing a face mask is causing a skin problem like a rash, acne, or other irritation, you may be able to treat it yourself. Here’s some expert advice from dermatologists and doctors on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic:

Sometimes attention is focused primarily on the face when discussing skin care, but there is much more to be concerned about. Ethanol (CH3CH2OH), or beverage alcohol, is a two-carbon alcohol
that is rapidly distributed in the body and brain. Ethanol alters many
neurochemical systems and has rewarding and addictive properties. It
is the oldest recreational drug and likely contributes to more morbidity,
mortality, and public health costs than all illicit drugs combined. The
5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
(DSM-5) integrates alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence into a single
disorder called alcohol use disorder (AUD), with mild, moderate,
and severe subclassifications (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
In the DSM-5, all types of substance abuse and dependence have been
combined into a single substance use disorder (SUD) on a continuum
from mild to severe. A diagnosis of AUD requires that at least two of
the 11 DSM-5 behaviors be present within a 12-month period (mild
AUD: 2–3 criteria; moderate AUD: 4–5 criteria; severe AUD: 6–11 criteria).
The four main behavioral effects of AUD are impaired control over
drinking, negative social consequences, risky use, and altered physiological
effects (tolerance, withdrawal). This chapter presents an overview
of the prevalence and harmful consequences of AUD in the U.S.,
the systemic nature of the disease, neurocircuitry and stages of AUD,
comorbidities, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, genetic risk factors, and
pharmacotherapies for AUD.

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection
