Important Symbols

In the story Orpheus and Eurydice there are
several symbols used.

The snake in the story could represent how
the evils in the world stole Eurydice from
Orpheus

Orpheus had to run up a steep hill out of
Hades’s kingdom. This could represent him
trying to out run death.

Orpheus is a very impatient and foolish character.

He shows this be looking back on his wife even
though he was told he would lose her if he did.

Hades in the story was very soft being the ruler of
the underworld but instantly snatched Eurydice back
once Orpheus made a mistake.

The plot tells of Eurydice being sent to Hades and
Orpheus to get her back but fails.
