Avid is a college readiness program that aims to increase the number of students enrolling in four-year colleges, particularly focusing on less served students in the middle academic range. At Salem Middle School, Avid students take rigorous classes and receive support in an elective Avid class to prepare them for advanced coursework in high school and increased college opportunities through academic training, tutorials, and long-range planning support.
