Cristal led initiatives to enable and empower communities to be independent by facilitating equitable access to opportunities. Her work supported a diverse portfolio of the Foundation’s programs and projects as she led economic development, education and emergency relief initiatives that empowered thousands of people and had a positive impact on vulnerable communities. During this time, she raised awareness and built partnerships with other local and international non-profit and professional organizations, the private sector and concerned individuals, which resulted in contributions in cash and in-kind to support the Foundation’s work in Pakistan. Her primary focus was in the area of women and girl’s empowerment through economic development in the remotest areas of Pakistan. Cristal’s work was instrumental in the success of the Women's Empowerment through Honey Bee Farming "Plan Bee Project" and its global impact and recognition, including the prestigious BBC / Newsweek Magazine World Challenge Competition Global Award, Clinton Global Initiative Featured Commitment, and the Jefferson Awards Youth Service Challenge, as highlighted in her TEDx Talk Houston.
