How to Make it in Media Planning - Tom Brady EditionJulian Lewis
Meeting a young media planner last week, I was inspired to post this deck. I created a few year back when I worked on the agency side, for my buddy who was the assistant planner on our team (he's a huge TB12 fan).
Planners/buyers tend to have some of the toughest gigs in the business, managing large budgets for huge brands. My intention in creating this was to keep him inspired and on a growth path. I hope it helps to do the same for others, whether you love TB12 or not!
Extreme Life Makeover: 5 Simple Steps To Change Your LifeMichael Lee
This presentation will guide you through the different facets of life which you can improve on, so you can attain utmost happiness and fulfillment in life.
It takes competent, passionate, skilled product people (and a cross‐functional product development team sharing the same characteristics) to deliver a successful product. And becoming this kind of a product manager takes time, effort, and commitment. It ́s a long journey and a hard one if you are not having a kind of compass that helps you find your way. Too few product people are having a line manager helping them with all of this and you're probably having to manage your own development and don't know where to start. Come to this session to learn how to take control of your own skill growth.
6 startup lessons from Amazon to ZattikkaDave Mutton
Dave Mutton shares 6 important lessons from his career including “Just Do It!” “Data, Data, Data" and “Show me the money” Invaluable advice for any budding entrepreneur.
About Dave Mutton
Dave Mutton has been working on internet projects since the mid 90’s. Part of the team that launched Amazon.co.uk in 1998, Dave went onto to work at Yahoo, StepStone and has worked with more than 20 start-ups since, including raising $20m for the social gaming startup Zattikka in 2013.
Zattikka wanted to be a major new player in social and casual gaming across online and mobile platforms, producing games, for browser, mobile and social networks. Unfortunately, investment in two major new games didn't deliver a return as both games failed to gain sufficient traction. Zattikka went into receivership in August 2013.
He joined Macmillan Science and Education in September 2013 as Marketing Director for both Digital Science and Digital Education divisions. Both divisions invest in disruptive businesses and he provided marketing guidance and support across a portfolio of 18 companies.
Now working independently offering consultancy services either individually or via a virtual team leveraging his network of experienced internet professionals
Reentering the workforce after a long absence is an intimidating undertaking and the longer the absence the scarier it is. During that time, your industry changes and so do you. But I’ve helped many mid-career professionals get back in the game and you can too.
It doesn’t matter whether you left the workforce to raise children, travel, or for personal reasons such as caring for a sick relative. If you’re mulling over how to reenter the workforce, the same simple steps can be used to help anyone get back on track.

Job Search Survival Kit -- OK School's Out, Now What --Anthony Hines
This presentation will give some tips to the recently graduated college student who is about to enter the workforce. It will focus on the skills and networking ability that have already been created and show the reader how to proceed in the job search process.
Who Am I….I am a hardworking guy who, like many others, found himself out of work during the economic downturn in 2010. After a long battle of wrong turns, job search strategies that led to no where, and dead end leads, I decided to take a more strategic approach to my job search. Like anything else in life, I needed to treat my search like a full-time job and create a plan that would allow me to stand out above the competition. This came in especially handy as I was in transition again in 2017. Basically, I just used the tips that I have shared with others and was out of work a total of ZERO days. Yes, I got a job offer the day after my last day at my previous job. Let me show you how I did it so you too can have a quicker landing than you would have had without my tips.
Why Am I Sharing What Helped Me…because I quickly realized that to handle an event like that is to focus on what you can control and share the experience to help others. I believe that an experience not shared is a lost opportunity in life, and that smart people learn from their mistakes and smarter people learn from other people’s experiences. Plus, I told myself that once I figured this out I would share it with others so that they too could navigate the world of unemployment. In these chapters, I show you how I did it so that you will have the confidence to make it through the process. I hope that this presentation helps you to get your next great job.

Coach Grace Locsin:
The Top 10 Attitudes Freelancing Newbies Need to Embrace for Success
[music]
Hi there, my name is Grace and I am the Co-founder, Owner and Creator of Filipino Virtual Assistance and today
allow me to share with you the top 10 attitude freelancing newbies can embrace for freelancing success. These
attitudes are:
(1) Love for growth
(2) Being teachable
(3) Willingness to put at the work
(4) Working with the team
(5) Accountability
(6) Time management
(7) Flexibility
(8) Resourcefulness
(9) Initiative and
(10) Determination
One needs to have the love for growth because freelancing is not going to be a walk in the park. It will take you
from one challenge to the other. It will take you out of your comfort zone so you have to love the growth process in
order for you to be successful. You also need to be teachable, because the things that you think will be effective,
sometimes are not effective so you have to listen to those who have been there and listen to the techniques, and
the attitudes, the characters that took a lot of seasoned freelancers that you know, towards success that you have
been dreaming or you are dreaming right now. You have to have a teachable heart or a teachable mindset. You also
need to be willing to put in the work. A lot of freelancers would come in the freelancing industry with their mindset
that it's going to be handed out to you. The work would be handed out to you, the client would be handed out to
you, especially if you can rule and pay. It’s not going to work that way. There’s work involve, you have to learn the
skill, you have to be an expert, you have to build portfolios, you need to build yourself as an expert or as someone
who has authority in the field so you need to be willing to put that work that will take you there. You need to also
be willing to work with a team, often times there are a lot of things that you can learn from other freelancers, there
are a lot of ideas, contents and other techniques that you can learn with other freelancers out there, so teamwork
and camaraderie will take you a long way. You need to also have an accountability, no mentors, friends, no
freelancing buddy, or freelancing community that would be there to help you. In the freelancing industry there are
ups and down with you going to the process in going through the whole journey you need to have accountability.
Time management is going to play a big factor also in your freelancing success, without time management you will
compromise the work-life balance and you won't be able to really enjoy freelancing or go to the fullest potential
2. what you can achieve being a freelancer so you need time management. You also need flexibility, if there are things
that will not turn out well, clients or contracts that will not play well, you know with your expectations, you need to
be flexible. You need to know, have the mindset, have the attitude that everything is a learning opportunity. If the
clients will not take you, you learn something. Every experience in the freelancing world or even sometimes or
often times outside the freelancing world is an experience that we need to learn. Resourcefulness is going to be an
important tool in freelancing success for newbies as well. If you can’t find the answer from the notes that the client
gave you, you can go to Google, you can go to Youtube. You can really find your way around and that's being
resourceful, because when we started freelancing there were no coaches, there were no training materials, there
were no modules, there were no guides that we’re telling us to do this, you know, from step one up to success but
now you have those but the tendency is you can be very dependent on those guides but is not resourceful anymore
that’s why you need to be also resourceful in finding solutions going to Google or to whatever source in order for
you to really solve the problem and execute the tasks that the client gave you. One needs to also have initiative that
means that you’re being proactive in your task. You’re proactive so you don’t wait for your client to tell you what’s
going on. You are on top of your tasks and when you have initiative you are being proactive with your tasks you will
do well in the freelancing. And last but certainly not the least is determination, you need to have perseverance, you
need to be enduring, you need to have that strength, that grit in order for you to be successful. It’s not going to be
all in a bed of roses but you can turn all circumstances into a learning opportunity and you know, use those learning
opportunities and experiences in order to be more successful. The freelancing world is a fast pace when it comes to
achieving your goals and living in your wise but you have to be determined enough to make it happen and to
overcome whatever challenges that will come your way. I hope that this has been helpful, again this is the 10
attitudes freelancing newbies can embrace for freelancing success. I will see you in the next video. God bless you all
today.
