Creating a double page spread involves laying out text and images across two facing pages to tell a cohesive story or present information in a visually appealing manner. Elements are carefully positioned to guide the reader's eye between the pages and create a sense of flow and continuity. Considerations include font size, white space, image placement, and use of color to effectively communicate the intended message across both pages.
Electronic Practice Assessment: Creating a user communitymyknowledgemap
This document discusses creating a user community by supporting software and users. It asks questions about common online platforms like Moodle, Mahara, and Stack Overflow that all have user communities. The goal is to grow an existing user community on this page by encouraging questions and participation from those visiting. The presenter aims to help the community progress from its current state to a stronger one by sharing what they know and discussing next steps together.
The document discusses feedback from a first aid class on improving first aid kit designs. Students suggested including features like one-handed opening, easy-access materials that can be ripped off, and an integrated flashlight. Potential users were also profiled with different experience levels, work environments, and kit needs.
The document proposes a final year project to create a carbon footprint calculator. It discusses background information on carbon footprints and greenhouse gases. The goal is to address unawareness of personal contributions to global warming by developing a calculator that estimates carbon footprint and cost in a simple, visual manner. Existing calculators are analyzed and found to require too much calculation, time, and numbers. The proposed calculator would automate calculations and present results through easy to understand charts and comparisons. It would capture real-time energy usage data through sensors to provide accurate footprints without user inputs.
Study on Chinese policy research and policy making-taking the Five-Year Plan ...CPWF Mekong
By Ma Wenhui, Peking University, National Reform and Development Commission of PRC
Presented at the Mekong Forum on Water, Food and Energy Phnom Penh, Cambodia December 7-9, 2011 Session 6a: The role of research: How does research influence the ways in which water, food and energy development decisions are made?
The features that gave the best classification results differed between the experimental welding samples and industrial welding samples. For the experimental samples, the statistical features of maximum, peak-to-peak, RMS, and standard deviation classified the normal vs greasy samples with 100% accuracy. For the industrial samples, the maximum, minimum, peak-to-peak, and RMS dynamic resistance features classified the PA data samples with 100% accuracy, while none of the features achieved over 75% accuracy for the PB data samples. The differences in classification performance may be due to variations in data quality and welding conditions between experimental and industrial settings.

The student presented the mid-term progress of their final year project to develop an online classroom platform. Key features proposed include a customizable classroom screen, teaching and communication tools, and plugins for camera, slide sharing, whiteboarding. So far, separate components for profiles, peer-to-peer chat, and a customizable classroom have been developed, but challenges remain in fully integrating these and enabling teacher-student communication within a single platform.
This document provides guidance on selecting a topic and preparing for a final year university project. It recommends choosing a topic that interests you and is feasible given available resources and timelines. The Eighth Five-Year Plan of India aimed to modernize industries, control population growth, reduce poverty, generate employment, strengthen infrastructure, and decentralize power. It was led by Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and Finance Minister Manmohan Singh and marked the beginning of economic liberalization reforms in India. The plan achieved average GDP growth of 6.8% and growth in the agricultural, industrial, and employment sectors, showing positive results for its goals.
The document provides guidance for students on the requirements and structure of a final year project proposal. It explains that the proposal is the first of three written phases, followed by a progress report and final report. The proposal should follow a specific structure, including a title page, table of contents, introduction, methodology, project planning, hardware/software requirements, references, and appendices. It provides examples and explanations of the content expected for each section, such as stating the project objectives and goals in the introduction and describing the project timeline in a Gantt chart for the project planning section. Guidelines are also given for properly citing references and formatting a references list.
This document provides information about the final year project orientation for the computer science batch of 2009 at a university. It discusses the importance of the final year project, introduces the project committee members, outlines the project process and methodology, lists important deadlines and policies, and provides examples of potential project ideas. The goals are to apply knowledge and skills learned, work on problems faced in the real world, and gain experience that can help in future careers or entrepreneurship. Students are encouraged to be innovative and passionate in their projects.
This project report describes an infrared remote control system to switch electrical devices on and off. The system uses an AT89C2051 microcontroller to receive infrared signals from a remote control via an infrared receiver. The microcontroller then controls up to six electrical devices using ULN2003 transistors. The system has a range of up to 10 meters and works using the Phillips RC5 infrared communication protocol. It was developed by four electrical engineering students at Assam Engineering College as their final year project.

Carrer goals.pptx and their importance in real lifeartemacademy2
Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!
