My Sister Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Sister" might seem like a straightforward task at first
glance, as it revolves around a personal and familiar subject. However, delving into the
intricacies of such a topic can pose a unique set of challenges. The difficulty arises not from a
lack of material or experiences but rather from the delicate balance required to capture the
essence of one's relationship with a sister.
The challenge lies in presenting a heartfelt narrative that goes beyond mere recollections and
anecdotes. It demands an exploration of the emotional nuances, shared memories, and the
evolution of the bond over time. Expressing the depth of connection, the blend of love and
occasional disagreements, and the unique dynamics that characterize a sibling relationship adds
layers to the essay.
Moreover, there's a constant struggle to strike a balance between sentimentality and objectivity.
Too much emotion might make the essay overly sentimental, while excessive detachment can
strip it of its genuine and relatable qualities. It's about finding the right words to convey the
complexity of the relationship, the lessons learned, and the growth experienced together.
The challenge also extends to avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements. The goal is to make the
essay stand out by offering a personal perspective that resonates with readers. It's about crafting
a narrative that goes beyond the surface, tapping into the shared experiences and individual
quirks that define the sisterly connection.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "My Sister" is not just about compiling a series of
events or experiences. It's a delicate art that requires navigating through emotions, memories, and
the intricacies of a relationship. However, with careful reflection and a genuine expression of
one's feelings, the challenge can be overcome to create a compelling and authentic portrayal of
the bond with a sister.

Essay about Ricardo Semler And New Zealand
Introduction
The biggest challenge facing any business today is change. Ricardo Semlars
approach to management revolutionized they way in which Secom did business.
However it is of question if Semlars model of business can be successfully
transplanted into New Zealand s business environment and change the way in which
they operate. This essay will therefore discuss if Ricardo s unique approach to
business, and how it can be successfully used in the New Zealand business
environment.
This essay will firstly discuss the idea that profit sharing can motivate workers and
how this idea is set up in the New Zealand business environment. Secondly the ways
in which employee participation work in New Zealand, and how managers can better

Another way of looking at this idea is that if an employee can directly relate to the
success of the company, with the amount of profits they will receive, employees
would join with management to improve the business profitability and productivity.
Bell and Hanson (1987) also believe that by implementing a profit sharing scheme
into a business, employees will have a greater sense of identity with the company
and have a greater share in the company s success. One example of successful
implementation of this idea in New Zealand is Mac Pac. Mac Pac is one of New
Zealand leading outdoor equipment providers. After 5 years of running the
business, CEO Bruce McIntyre has implemented a profit sharing scheme into the
business where Macpac distribute 20% of pre tax profits to staff each year. Other
business in New Zealand has followed this business model such as the CEO of
GMV Associates New Zealand, who believes that There are huge advantages in
profit share because the staff becomes totally committed to the company (Clark
Reynolds cited in Light, 1997, p.34). What this leads to is a decrease in employee
turnover and increase productivity of workers, because they now have a greater
interest in the company s success. This translates into a more successful company.
However New Zealand businesses wishing to implement profit sharing schemes
should not just look at shop floor workers buy managers as well. Currently in
1850 s Economic Perspective
Thesis The economic perspective of an adolescent period of American History
1850 1900 is filled with opportunity, drama, and great success and it leaves us with
its reticence today. Technology, great and not so great individuals, governmental
applications, and the effects of the business cycle all contributed to the mix. Each
of these played a part of the great success and or the great undoing of each other
over the course of time. The 1850 s were an incredible beginning to a period in our
nations economic history and in my opinion were the beginning of an era of
adolescence. Our counties body, brain, and emotions were growing at different rates

Jack Lemmon s Fear Of Failure In The Workplace
Failure seldom stops you. What stops you is the fear of failure. Jack Lemmon
Jack* was a financial analyst for a large company in Washington, DC. After a few
years, the director of his department decided to leave so her position became open.
Jack considered applying for the job, but his fear of failure in managing others
overwhelmed him. Despite his reservations, he decided to apply and ended up
getting the position. Less than a year later he was fired for his failure to manage
effectively. He was out of work for three months, which coincided with the birth of
his first son. At the end of those three months he got a new job working as a
financial analyst for a company he likes much more and that is located only two
miles from his home. In the end, Jack realized he was not cut out for management
yet but he didn t regret trying it out. He believes being fired was a blessing in
disguise because he was able to spend valuable time with his son and find a new job
he enjoys.
A new manager in her early 30s was running a small group of client service
representatives to service an institutional clientele at a financial services firm. One of
her new employees had become very difficult she was demanding, acting entitled, was
trying to pick and choose her work, and was creating resentment among colleagues.
This was the manager s first challenge in confronting employees whose behavior had

Maslach Burnout Inventory
Burnout among graduate students can lead to emotional exhaustion and
depersonalization. Students might not perform to the best of their abilities, and
experience a decline in their sense of personal accomplishments (Maslach, Leiter,
and Jackson, 2012). It can be difficult for them to rationalize that their feelings are a
result of stressand high demands, something that can trigger feelings of insecurity
and anxiety. The lack of self esteem can be difficult to rebuild, unless the student is
provided with adequate support from t their environment. Micromanagement, also
known as the detailed surveillance under strict policies, has also shown to have
negative effects on individuals (Maslach, and Leiter, 2008). While research shows

regarding unprofessional conduct, and attitudes regarding their profession and seeing

Although cheating and dishonest behaviors with respect to academic work was rarely

demonstrated the importance of why burnout is necessary to study, as it is

The Pros And Cons Of Direct Democracy In The United
States
Direct democracy is a government in which the people decide. Direct democracy
overall is a positive thing, but as with everything, there can be some dangers.
Direct democracy is a form of democracy in which the people are able to vote and
form consensus on policies directly. The people have the power of recall, which
gives the public the power to remove elected officials from office before the end of
their term if they do not feel they are doing a great job. California voters are also
able to help make laws by creating ballot propositions. Propositions are ideas voters
have for new laws or changes to the constitution. Direct democracyin California
started in the early 1900 s, when many citizens in California were unhappy with the
state government. The citizens then created a system of initiatives and referendums.
Initiative is a proposal for a new law and a referendum allows the citizens to vote for
or against a law that the state assembly has passed.... Show more content on

Direct democracy is supposed to promote a cooperative community, people have the
power to speak for their opinions. It promotes civic involvement and a meaningful
society where informed decisions are not just made by the government but by the
public as well. The citizens are able to learn the important information they need in
order to understand issues of the government and laws that are implemented. In a
direct democracy the people are able to feel that their voice matters and that if the
majority of the public is against a law or feels that a person in office is not living
up to what they said, they have the right to either fix the law or remove the person
from office. This feeling of a voice makes the public more willing to get involved
and care about the
The Garden Of Earthly Delights
Hieronymous Bosch s 16th century triptych, The Garden of Earthly Delights, is a
heavily discussed image among scholars. Because of the obscure nature of the
painting and its subjects, especially so in the context of the painting s time period,
interpretations and analyses of the image are widespread. Common interpretations
of the piece include that the image is a symbolic warning against shame and sin, a
warning against woman s temptations, the rebirth of a joyous world, and the
Garden as a Paradise Lost . In the 15th and 16th centuries, there were various
controversies surrounding the papacy of the Catholic Church, as well as other
matters of Catholic corruption, which would eventually lead to the reformation.
Expectedly, an unsophisticated symbolic analysis of the painting may lead one to
interpret the image as a representation of the Final Judgment , which is plausible
given this context of Bosch s time period. Because of religious conflict and turmoil,
people were likely confused and fearful of literal apocalyptic consequences. A more
sophisticated allegorical analysis of the piece is instead revealing of Bosch s
conceptual interpretation of the world and reality itself. The title suggests the piece
contains earthly delights , yet the absence of any man like items suggests that Bosch
s painting was instead metaphorically symbolic in its iconographic depictions. The
center panel should thus be interpreted allegorically in order to decode Bosch s

Gcse Film Techniques
The 2001 Baz Luhrmann Moulin Rouge production is assembled like a bunch
frenzied snapshots of what a drug induced erotic encounter would look like, or what
we would imagine it would look like. The film does not depend on dialogue but on
the way you imagine a fantasy from one angle and then another with all of extreme
contrast between dark and light colors and the fast movement of the film. Luhrman
uses many different techniques to convey images to his viewers. Examples of these
are mise en scene, cinematography, and editing. All of these techniques are used to
draw you into the film; the uses of these together make a fantastic story about love.
Luhrman uses mise en scene to a great effect. A perfect example of this is in the first
scene where we are introduced into Christian s attic. We are shown Cristian being
surrounded by papers, bottles, clothes, dust and dirt, with his face down in his arms.
The lighting on him is a saturated blue light and the detail of the typewriter, his dirty
appearance, even more empty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This film was a lot to take in due to is very unconventional use of mise en scene,
cinematography, and most of all editing. I can honestly say that if I had not taken
this film appreciation course, sadly I would not have made it through the first 10
minutes of pure madness. Had I not been able to better recognize the meaning or
reasoning behind the editing style and use of artwork I would have been
uninterested. Now, with all of that being said the movie over all is a fantastic piece
of artwork. From the beginning scenes with the perfect use of illuminated blue
lighting, to the use of cinematography to really bring us into the character s
perspective, to the creative use of hyper kinetic style editing to give the feeling of
freedom. It all comes together to really bring the audience a true feel of what the 1899
bohemian revolution would have been
Hg Wells The Time Machine
Today in our generation technology is being more reliable into a better system
everyday, but what about our economic and political system? We face challenges
daily on how our system works and it is cloned that way. Physically and mentally the
United States has slowly dismantled the works of that system and H.G Wells tells his
story The Time Machineto that effect. His novel shows that every course he takes to a
different time, the world manipulates the unsettlement of even technology or the
political structure.
As the story delves into the first setting of the story, the narrator describes the place
he is at in london. Getting deeper into that mist he describes the decoration of the

More anxious than ever he wishes for more economic and political advantages. So,
going forward to the year 802,701 he realizes he is still in London. Only to face an
area that was no longer London. The land was full of grass and no life that he
could communicate with. From time to time he explains his thoughts including In
another place was a vast array of idols Polynesian, Mexican, Grecian, Phoenician,
every county on earth I should think. And here yielding to an irresistible impulse.
(Wells 14) His sight is genuine and everlasting. His impulses are unique, and he is
crazy insane at what he see s. More interesting is the oceans and the rivers had
totally moved over a mile over. More deep into the story he spots a drop of culture
and domination. As the traveller moves around the new despicable London, he
discovers these creatures called the Eloi s. Very beautiful and graceful, they were
with hectic beauty and China typed prettiness. They were not human like and did not
speak of the English ways. Two locations seemed important to them, which were the
Eloi s communal and the big house underneath the surface of the ground. Very high
in range of the other areas, down in the valley, there was another significant group
called the Merlocks. They looked liked human spiders and were vermin with damned
souls.
Vertigo Monologue
The vertigo was beginning to set in, meaning I only had 3 minutes at max to pack
everything I would require to survive in a setting as utterly awful as the 1800 s deep
south. I scrambled from my bedroom to the bathroom, slipper laden feet struggling to
gain traction on the cool, smooth tile. My tired and relatively confused hands
reached for anything that could help, but in the panic that was the realization of, I m
about to time travel, I only ended up slapping a few medicinebottles off of a counter
onto the floor and had to listen to their angry pill rattling. In that moment of minor
chaos, my befuddled mind recalled I had an emergency first aid kit in a cupboard
under the counter, and I figured this constituted as an emergency. I threw... Show

The Burj Al Arab, A Glass And Steel Skyscraper
The Burj Al Arab, a glass and steel skyscraper (Ingersoll 2013, 935), was developed
during a time period of rapid expansion in the United Arab Emirates, and in Dubai
(Bagaeen 2007, 173 197), and was completed in 1999 (Welch 2014) by the Jumeirah
International Group, Architect Tom Wright (McBride 2000, 118), and the Atkins
Company (Ingersoll 2013, 935). The Burj Khalifais 160 stories or 630 meters tall
(Ingersoll 2013, 937). The Burj Khalifa is the tallest artificial structure in the
world. It is a mixed use tower that primarily houses office and residential space
(Baker 2010, 46), the tip reaches 828 meters (Alfred 2010, 66), and the Burj Khalifa
was inaugurated January 4, 2010 (Baker 2010, 46). Like the Burj Al Arab, the Burj
Khalifa was designed by a western architect, Adrian Smith, and the architecture firm,
Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (Ingersoll 2013, 937). In this industrial age of mega
development, in the nondemocratic United Arab Emirates, mega projects are hastily
and irresponsibly built with little consideration of their regional negative impacts or
sustainability. In the United Arab Emirates, and in lesser developed countries around
the world, their primitive political structures have many holes which are exploited by
the few with power.
Before finding oil, the United Arab Emirates was a poor nation and their economy
relied heavily on fishing and a declining pearl industry (BBC, 2015). After offshore
petroleum was discovered in 1966, the oil industry s
Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement
Imagine being in a 36 and counting year war with your own country, this is an
everyday battle in Peru. Beginning in 1980, it has been an ongoing armed war and
conflict between the government and an insurgent/rebel group called the Guerilla

killed due to these conflicts. Arguments between MRTA and Shining Path are known
to slowly cool off by 2000, but in 2014 violence erupted between the Peruvian Army

The Similarities Between 1984 And Totalitarianism
Totalitarian governments have been used countless times as examples of the
privileges Americans have, simply by living in this country. For many 1984 is
simply a fictional book that is distorted beyond belief and that it is an exaggeration
of something that may never happen, for others however it is a reality they face
every day in Communist or fascist countries. The liberal values that lack in 1984 are
ones that many Americans take for granted; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
George Orwells 1984 is an embodiment of the values America holds dear and an
indictment against other forms of governmentbecause it serves as a reminder of the
values Americans are privileged with.
Totalitarianism is defined as being a system of government that is centralized and
dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state. Totalitarian governments
such as Nazi Germany and Italy while under Mussolini s dictatorship compare to
INGSOC in the way that they eliminated everything an individual should be able to
decide for themselves. For instance, they decide what people should believe and what
values they should hold.

This portrays quite a resemblance to what McCarthy did with anyone who gave off
an impression that could be interpreted as remotely Communist. McCarthy s
unscrupulous tactics included badgering people and later refusing to accept their
answer (Red Scare). This is much like what 1984 portrays with the Party trying to
find all perpetrators of plotting to overthrow INGSOC. The loyalty can also be
compared to the time when the red scare was occurring. American citizens were so
devoted to the U.S. when there was word that someone may or may not be
Communist citizens were quick to turn their backs on

The Death Of The Yacht
April 3rd, 1966 As I depart from the New York Harbor in Vida the Yacht, I hear the
screaming voices of the city becoming one mumbled echo; becoming a wall
pushing my boat further and further away into the freedom of the sea. The
disconcerting, explosive screams of a city enraged, shrieking, make love not war
soon decrescendos into the calming, humming winds of the ocean. All that those
people are rioting for, I have found. Peace. Just a few miles out from where they
stand. If only everyone could sail their boats far away and be still for a few
moments maybe then they would realize peace is here: peace exists. We just have to
be quiet and still enough to let it speak.
May 3rd, 1966 I have been at sea for a month now. Although the screams of my
enraged city are silenced by distance, they are still here in my head. I am so far
away, surrounded by nothing but blue water and skies, yet my mind and memories
keep me close. I have had no connection with the outside world; I have tried only to
have connection with my inside world. I often wonder how many are dead now.
When I left it was around 100,000. But I have to remember, that is not why I came
out here. I did not come out here to be blinded by the echoing screams in my mind
of the incessant worry of my heart. I came out here to find what all of this societal
insanity inhibits peace because only when we find peace internally may we find it
and share it externally in this world.

The Battle Of Gettysburg By Bruce Caton
The Battle of Gettysburg took place on July 1st 3rd, 1863 (Gettysburg: heading).
The battle occurred in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania which is
located in Adams County. Gettysburg is located in a very rocky area and has a lot
of hills. It is a market town and its population is made up of mostly farmers (The
Battle of Gettysburg1863: Page 5: Paragraph 2: Line 1). This battle was part of the
civil war and is known as the turning point of this war. Gettysburg is also known as
one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in America ( The Battle of Gettysburg by
Bruce Caton: Introduction: Paragraph 2: Line 1). A large cause of the civil war
was the difference of opinion on whether slavery should be abolished in the United
States. The southern states relied on slave labor to make money. The north did not
need slavery as much as the south did because it was more industrialized. The
fighting took place between the Union and Confederate armies. The northerners
were the Union and the southerners were the Confederates. This war altered the
nation as a whole because both sides were from the United States. The country was
fighting with itself. The battle of Gettysburg played a very large role in the war.
Many would argue that this was not the most important battle of the civil war, but
others would say that it affected the outcome of the war in a very large way. The
Battle of Gettysburg was a major battle in the civil war between the Union and
Confederate armies.

Sir William Herschel accomplished a lot for astronomy. In 1781 he was able to
discover Uranus with his own homemade telescope. With the help of his sister, he
was also able to discover over 2,500 celestial bodies that are still being used today. It
was the first planet discovered that could not be seen with the naked eye. Herschel

Essay On Factory Farming
Do you know what your meal went through to get to your plate and how it is
affecting your day to day life? Factory farming is an industrial type operation that
uses large quantities of animals to provide food fast and efficiently. Almost all the
meats and animal byproducts that we consume, cause harm and pain to the animals
as they go through the cycle of factory farmingand it might cause issues affecting
your health. Factory farming is unethical because the practices are uneconomical,
unsanitary, and unnecessary. Factory farming is raising livestockwith one intent in
mind, which is getting money fast while spending little. They use shortcuts to make
production more efficient, but do so without the animal s wellbeing in mind. Some
people agree with the prospects of factory farming because they benefit economically.

We can farm large amount of animals for food and production and not have to treat
them bad and use bad practices. We can put rubber tip nubs on the chickens beaks

tail so that it won t spread diseases from urine and manure onto the utters. We
should pass more laws that will apply to all animals. Everything that was fed and
put into your dinner gets put into you, such as growth hormones, artificial food, and
unnatural products. Therefore, I believe that we should treat the animals we use
during factory farming with a little more respect and not abuse them. In conclusion,

The Choices Made Effect The Future
After graduating high school, life actually begins. The choices made effect the future,
a big choice to make is whether to go into the military. The military force closest to
civilians is the National Guard. National Guardsmen and women get benefits that
normal civilians don t, but the opposite is also true. Differences between time, money,
and education should be taken into account when deciding a future in the National
Guard. Humans only have so long to live, time wasted is time that cannot be
recaptured, time is a currency that without thriftiness can dwindle into nothing. When
someone joins the National Guard, he/she signs to work for eight years of their life.

Civilians can achieve two Bachelor degrees, if money isn t a problem, in the eight
years National Guard members serve. Since civilians do not hold drills on
weekends or go to mandatory meetings they can hold a job because their schedule
is more manageable (National Guard Members Struggle to Keep Civilian Jobs).
Family is less of an issue because civilians are not withheld by a contract to leave
the state by the federal government. All of the factors point that civilians are better
equipped to save time. Civilians might be better in the department of saving time
but money is a different story. During training, National Guard forces are paid as if
they are in active duty (What will I get paid). Once the training is over, the money
declines for reserve members, but stays relatively constant for active members. The
pay is around two hundred to three hundred dollars for reserve members, and one
thousand five hundred dollars to two thousand dollars for active members per drill,
one weekend a month (What will I get paid). The pay of the National Guard might
not be exciting, but the military truly shines in the area of education. At a local
college, such as Brigham Young Universityof Idaho, it would cost around twenty
one thousand dollars for schooling (GI Bill Comparison Tool). However, the National
Guard can pay for all of it if the member drills and
Female Figure In Greek Art
For thousands of years, human life is incomplete without sculptures, paintings, and
literature. More than 25,000 years ago evidence about culture is described in
paintings found in caves and small sculptures. Magical help to hunters was
apparently supplied by the sculptures. Sculptures represented gods after the aurora of
civilization. Ancient kings made statues of god in a hope of making themselves
eternal and have their effigy sculpted, giving rise to profile sculpture. People of
paleolithic era carved stone to make sculptures as well as their weapons that were
necessary for them to survive in unfavourable environment. Archeological sites across
Europe found large number of female structural artifacts. Sculptures are very gigantic

London is iconic for many things Big Ben, red telephone booths, double decker

the building of Tower Bridge, London Bridge was the only way to cross the
Thames river. By the nineteenth century, the population of London had grown
much too large for one bridge, however there was a challenge as to how to build
the bridge without disrupting river traffic. In 1876 a Special Bridge Committee
was formed to oversee the designing and building of the bridge. The committee
decided to open the designing up for public competition. Over fifty designs were
submitted and the committee filtered through them until they discovered one that
they liked. The chosen design was created by Horace Jones, the city architect, and
John Wolfe Barry ( Bridge History ). Construction began in October of 1884. Two
gigantic piers were driven into the river bed to support the eleven thousand tons of
steel and granite that were used to construct Tower Bridge. The project took eight
years, five contractors, and over four hundred thirty construction workers every
day to complete. When it was first completed, Tower Bridge was the most largest
and most complex bascule bridge ever built. The large bascules were raised and
lowered by large hydraulic cylinders that were powered by massive steam engines
and boilers. The bridge remained this way until 1976 when it was updated to be ran
with oil and electricity ( History of Tower Bridge ).
How Does Swift Use Satire
Gulliver s Travels by Swift as a Fine Example of Satire
Gulliver s Travels is a book which uses satire, to attack the politics of its time. Swift
operates on two levels; on one level he tells an enjoyable fantasy story for all ages.
On the second level behind the superficial narrative he comments upon the issues he
faces in the reality of England and makes criticisms.
The story is set on an island called Lilliput, it is inhabited by little people and it is
this which Swift uses as a base for his views on the world around him. Lilliput is a
mirror image of London in 1726, and it acts as a blank canvas for Swifts thoughts on

The discrimination of women, this may seem harsh on the women s part but really
instead of Swift being spiteful and insulting the women he is putting across a subtle
hint of superiority.
The story is a mirror image of the city of London in 1726. Lemuel Gulliver sets out
on a voyage upon a fine sailing vessel, the crew soon run into trouble and the ship
becomes wrecked. Gulliver is stranded and runs adrift upon a strange island, this
island isn t like any other though, as Gulliver soon discovers. Its inhabitants are all
a twelfth of his size. The book describes Gulliver s amazing adventures that lay
before him. Throughout the story a great deal of ingratitude is shown in many
different forms. When Gulliver urinates on the palace to extinguish a fire, even
though Gulliver may see this as a good deed it is seen as a kind of insult by the
Lilliputians. Gulliver is also shown ingratitude by the Lilliputians, after defeating an
opposing fleet single handily and saving the palace from burning to the ground the
inhabitants turn on Gulliver and decide to try and gauge his eyes out, this I feel is

Accomplishments During The Renaissance
The renaissance is one of the most fascinating and unique periods of European
history. It began in Italy about 1350 and in the rest of Europe after 1450 and lasted
until about 1620. Furthermore, the renaissance is a historical event known as the
period of the revival of art, literature, and learning in Europe. The name Renaissance
originates from several Italian Scholars in the early 15th century that used the term
rinascitГ ( rebirth or renaissance ) to describe their own age as one in which
learning, literature, music and the arts were reborn after a long, dark Middle Ages.
(The Columbia Encyclopedia,2016). Likewise, it was also the time of the Humanism.
The intellectual movement called humanism focused on human life and its
achievements. The humanists were fascinated by cultures of ancient Greece and
Rome.
Music is an art that appears in all cultures all over the world. Moreover, during the
Renaissance, vocal music was more dominant than instrumental music, and
composers wrote music to enhance the meaning of the text. In fact, music played a
significant role in society during this period as it helped to shape, advance cultures
and was an essential part of civic, religious, and courtly life. The new ideas in

The Search for Truth in Anton Chekhov s The Cherry...
The scholar is engaged in the interminable quest for truth. The knowledge that one
can never understand everything makes a person wise. Ignorance is the assumption
that one can understand all about the world around them. An ignorant person is so
confident they comprehend the truth, that they are blind to the greater truth. Anton
Chekhov and Sophoclesdeal with the idea of this sinful pride that leads to ignorance
in their respective works, The Cherry Orchard and Oedipus Rex. In each drama,
certain characters are slapped in the face with the truth; the light is revealed.
However, these characters make the connection when it is too late. Their destruction
is already destined to become a reality, a horrid fate that could have been prevented....

The timing of the chorus plea as Oedipus enters the stage clearly demonstrates that
Oedipus is the man whom he seeks, the murderer of the king. The truth of the play is
revealed, yet Oedipus remains ignorant.
Chekhov also makes use of a symbol to represent truth in his play. In The Cherry
Orchard, the Ranevskayas are an aristocratic family that squander away their final
days at their beloved cherry orchard. It shall soon be auctioned off, yet the family
merely sits about and engages in meaningless chatter. They assume that everything
shall be taken care of, the way it always has been in their lives. However, there is
one man who seems to be above the careless atmosphere that surrounds him
Lopakhin, the hard working son of generations of peasants. This man of great
ambition represents truth. The truth that Chekhov reveals in the play is the emerging
changes in the Russian social structure. The industrious middle class is on the rise,
and the lazy aristocracy is doomed to fade away. In the end, Lopakhin buys the
cherry orchard, which is the estate where [his] father and grandfather were slaves
(Chekhov 366). The cherry orchard was the security, the wealth, and the power of the
aristocracy; it is bought by a merchant, the son of peasants. Could the aristocracy not
see what was happening, or did they choose to remain ignorant? By constructing
summer cottages, the Ranevskaya family could have prevented the loss of the beloved

Social Commentary In A Christmas Carol
A Christmas Carol is a beautifully crafted novel which symbolizes life in the
Victorian Era where class discrimination was a common practice and nearly no one
would speak up against it except Charles Dickens. Social commentary is a skill
used by artist of every deviation to making remarks on sundry issues society faces
and in Dickens case, he uses his words to lessen the social gap between the poor and
rich. Dickens leads the reader into his novel immediately by explaining that Ebenezer
Scroogeis a harsh miser whose only friend and partner, Jacob Marley, died 7 years
ago on Christmas Eve. After he spends his day at the counting house, Scrooge
returns to his house and as he lies in bed, Marly burst into his chambers wearing,
the chain I forged in life, (Dickens 16), bestowing upon him a prophecy: 3 Spirits
will haunt him, however his consent is paramount if wants a proper afterlife. After
each spirit, Scrooge learns about how his misanthropic actions adversely affects
others until he learns to honor the Spirit of Christmas year round. Dickens used social
commentary to unearth the spirit of Christmas amongst all by using social
commentary to express that one s class should not have an effect on how someone is
treated.
During the Victorian era, Dickens family was part of England s lower class who only
had scraps of food, few possessions, and had to work from dawn to dusk to survive
the cruelty of the world. His family, amongst many others of the lower class, lived in a

Finally in the last stanza Wordsworth describes how he ponders about the daffodils

poet creates vivid images of nature an describes his pensive but light hearted mood

A Study On Diabetes Mellitus
Part A 1. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (previously described as non insulin dependent
diabetes) is a condition due to hyperglycemia that accompanies a relative rather than
an absolute insulin deficiency. It appears as a consequence of the alteration
(genetically inherited or acquired) of insulin secretion, sometimes associated with
peripheral insulin resistance.
Impaired ability to absorb certain macronutrients such as carbohydrates, lipids and
proteins can lead to a large spectrum of chronic complications that involve more or
less all tissues of the human body. Globally, an estimated 422 million adults are living
with diabetes mellitus, according to the latest 2016 data from the World Health
Organization. Diabetes Mellitus affects an estimated 29.1 million people in the
United States and is the 7th leading cause of death.
T2DM includes a heterogeneous group of diseases that associate in different
degrees two major metabolic defects: beta cell insulin secretion defect and insulin
resistance of the peripheral tissues. Obesity and insulin resistance are characteristic
for the majority (80 90%) of T2DM cases (Obese T2DM). The sine qua non
condition for the progression from the preclinical phases (prediabetes) to the overt
hyperglycemia stages is represented by the presence of the insulin secretion beta cell
defect. A lack of compensation for insulin resistance will lead to evolution towards
T2DM. The first sign of

Telemedicine Improving Quality of Care in Obstetrics
When a woman finds out that she is pregnant she becomes overwhelmed with
emotions, worries and a busy schedule compiled with numerous doctor visits. As a
working mother to be it can be hard to find time off of work to make it to and from
every appointment, especially when appointments are once a month. This is just for a
woman with a healthy pregnancy, with no complications. A low risk obstetric patient
usually has 12 14 prenatal visits, depending on when they start their prenatal care and
when they deliver. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
(ACOG) has a recommended schedule for prenatal care. ACOG recommends that
patients are seen monthly from weeks 8 28, every ... Show more content on

It also allows the patient the opportunity to ask the physician about any questions or
concerns she may have, at the same time, the physician can talk to the patient asking
her any additional information that may be needed. Through telemedicine, the
physician can review the digital ultrasound in real time on the monitor and can
direct the sonographer to obtain additional views or to capture a specific image, if
needed. These live scans allow the physician and patient to view the image together
and discuss any concerns that may arise. Other specialists will be able to join in on
the video conference if needed, such as a diabetic educator and genetic counselor.
Many women are diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus during pregnancy.
Pregnancy complicated with GDM is accompanied by risks of adverse maternal
and fetal outcomes including preeclampsia, cesarean delivery, excessive fetal
growth, and shoulder dystocia (Harrison et al., 2016, p. 351). Because of these
risks these women need to be followed closely and counseled on how to achieve
and maintain glycemic control. This is done by providing patient education, lifestyle
modifications, glucose monitoring, and use of insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents
when indicated (Harrison et al., p. 351). All of this can lead to an increase in office
visits for these individuals. In a

Introduction
In the ever changing technological era of the soon to be 21st century, electronic
advancements have amazed us all. Unfortunately, the educational gap for the
common man/woman as a computer end user has left many far behind. There are
those who know and those who don t. This gap is the anchor of the computer
industry. One question comes to mind. quot; Why would I buy a computer, investing
thousands of dollars, when I don t know the first thing about them? quot; If it were as
easy as plugging it in and it guiding you through every nook and cranny answering
every question you had, then the computer would basically sell itself.
However, the shortcomings of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If someone who has no idea how to use a computer needs help, this could get quite
costly.
My business would deal more on the novice level. From how to turn on your
computer to more advanced applications. I plan to gear my service toward the
person who has a simple problem, to the more learned computer user, and will call on
my service without hesitation. My goal would be to make the customer feel
comfortable no matter how insignificant the case. This is what would separate my
business from the others.
Pricing Strategy
I would be most likely accepted in the market in a penetration pricing strategy.
First, my overhead would be minimal so cost of my service would best serve the
public at a low start up price. Second, not many are willing to open their pocket
books too wide after they ve already made a major purchase.
However, since my service could be considered a short term service with a high
turnover, a month to month contract or a choice of extensions to this contract for
additional fees would go like this: $25 for the first month up to 25 calls
$45 for two months up to 50 calls $70 for three months up to 75 calls $125 for six
months unlimited calls $200 for 1 year unlimited calls all emergency home visits
would be a $20 charge An important note: These would be the promotional prices in

My Sister Essay

  • 1. My Sister Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Sister" might seem like a straightforward task at first glance, as it revolves around a personal and familiar subject. However, delving into the intricacies of such a topic can pose a unique set of challenges. The difficulty arises not from a lack of material or experiences but rather from the delicate balance required to capture the essence of one's relationship with a sister. The challenge lies in presenting a heartfelt narrative that goes beyond mere recollections and anecdotes. It demands an exploration of the emotional nuances, shared memories, and the evolution of the bond over time. Expressing the depth of connection, the blend of love and occasional disagreements, and the unique dynamics that characterize a sibling relationship adds layers to the essay. Moreover, there's a constant struggle to strike a balance between sentimentality and objectivity. Too much emotion might make the essay overly sentimental, while excessive detachment can strip it of its genuine and relatable qualities. It's about finding the right words to convey the complexity of the relationship, the lessons learned, and the growth experienced together. The challenge also extends to avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements. The goal is to make the essay stand out by offering a personal perspective that resonates with readers. It's about crafting a narrative that goes beyond the surface, tapping into the shared experiences and individual quirks that define the sisterly connection. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "My Sister" is not just about compiling a series of events or experiences. It's a delicate art that requires navigating through emotions, memories, and the intricacies of a relationship. However, with careful reflection and a genuine expression of one's feelings, the challenge can be overcome to create a compelling and authentic portrayal of the bond with a sister. For those seeking assistance with similar essays or any other writing endeavors, it's worth exploring resources like HelpWriting.net, where professional help is available to guide and support the creative process. • 2. Essay about Ricardo Semler And New Zealand Introduction The biggest challenge facing any business today is change. Ricardo Semlars approach to management revolutionized they way in which Secom did business. However it is of question if Semlars model of business can be successfully transplanted into New Zealand s business environment and change the way in which they operate. This essay will therefore discuss if Ricardo s unique approach to business, and how it can be successfully used in the New Zealand business environment. This essay will firstly discuss the idea that profit sharing can motivate workers and how this idea is set up in the New Zealand business environment. Another way of looking at this idea is that if an employee can directly relate to the success of the company, with the amount of profits they will receive, employees would join with management to improve the business profitability and productivity. Bell and Hanson (1987) also believe that by implementing a profit sharing scheme into a business, employees will have a greater sense of identity with the company and have a greater share in the company s success. One example of successful implementation of this idea in New Zealand is Mac Pac. Mac Pac is one of New Zealand leading outdoor equipment providers. After 5 years of running the business, CEO Bruce McIntyre has implemented a profit sharing scheme into the business where Macpac distribute 20% of pre tax profits to staff each year. Other business in New Zealand has followed this business model such as the CEO of GMV Associates New Zealand, who believes that There are huge advantages in profit share because the staff becomes totally committed to the company (Clark Reynolds cited in Light, 1997, p.34). What this leads to is a decrease in employee turnover and increase productivity of workers, because they now have a greater interest in the company s success. This translates into a more successful company. However New Zealand businesses wishing to implement profit sharing schemes should not just look at shop floor workers buy managers as well. • 3. 1850 s Economic Perspective Thesis The economic perspective of an adolescent period of American History 1850 1900 is filled with opportunity, drama, and great success and it leaves us with its reticence today. Technology, great and not so great individuals, governmental applications, and the effects of the business cycle all contributed to the mix. Each of these played a part of the great success and or the great undoing of each other over the course of time. The 1850 s were an incredible beginning to a period in our nations economic history and in my opinion were the beginning of an era of adolescence. Our counties body, brain, and emotions were growing at different rates and at times, had to catch up to each other. Whether or not they caught up to each other is still... Because of the obscure nature of the painting and its subjects, especially so in the context of the painting s time period, interpretations and analyses of the image are widespread. Common interpretations of the piece include that the image is a symbolic warning against shame and sin, a warning against woman s temptations, the rebirth of a joyous world, and the Garden as a Paradise Lost . In the 15th and 16th centuries, there were various controversies surrounding the papacy of the Catholic Church, as well as other matters of Catholic corruption, which would eventually lead to the reformation. Expectedly, an unsophisticated symbolic analysis of the painting may lead one to interpret the image as a representation of the Final Judgment , which is plausible given this context of Bosch s time period. Because of religious conflict and turmoil, people were likely confused and fearful of literal apocalyptic consequences. A more sophisticated allegorical analysis of the piece is instead revealing of Bosch s conceptual interpretation of the world and reality itself. The title suggests the piece contains earthly delights , yet the absence of any man like items suggests that Bosch s painting was instead metaphorically symbolic in its iconographic depictions. The center panel should thus be interpreted allegorically in order to decode Bosch s conceptual

It is a market town and its population is made up of mostly farmers (The Battle of Gettysburg1863: Page 5: Paragraph 2: Line 1). This battle was part of the civil war and is known as the turning point of this war. Gettysburg is also known as one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in America ( The Battle of Gettysburg by Bruce Caton: Introduction: Paragraph 2: Line 1). A large cause of the civil war was the difference of opinion on whether slavery should be abolished in the United States. The southern states relied on slave labor to make money. The north did not need slavery as much as the south did because it was more industrialized. The fighting took place between the Union and Confederate armies. The northerners were the Union and the southerners were the Confederates. This war altered the nation as a whole because both sides were from the United States. The country was fighting with itself. The battle of Gettysburg played a very large role in the war. Many would argue that this was not the most important battle of the civil war, but others would say that it affected the outcome of the war in a very large way. The Battle of Gettysburg was a major battle in the civil war between the Union and Confederate armies.

Pryor to the building of Tower Bridge, London Bridge was the only way to cross the Thames river. By the nineteenth century, the population of London had grown much too large for one bridge, however there was a challenge as to how to build the bridge without disrupting river traffic. In 1876 a Special Bridge Committee was formed to oversee the designing and building of the bridge. The committee decided to open the designing up for public competition. Over fifty designs were submitted and the committee filtered through them until they discovered one that they liked. The chosen design was created by Horace Jones, the city architect, and John Wolfe Barry ( Bridge History ). Construction began in October of 1884. Two gigantic piers were driven into the river bed to support the eleven thousand tons of steel and granite that were used to construct Tower Bridge. The project took eight years, five contractors, and over four hundred thirty construction workers every day to complete. When it was first completed, Tower Bridge was the most largest and most complex bascule bridge ever built. The large bascules were raised and lowered by large hydraulic cylinders that were powered by massive steam engines and boilers. The bridge remained this way until 1976 when it was updated to be ran with oil and electricity ( History of Tower Bridge ).

It began in Italy about 1350 and in the rest of Europe after 1450 and lasted until about 1620. Furthermore, the renaissance is a historical event known as the period of the revival of art, literature, and learning in Europe. The name Renaissance originates from several Italian Scholars in the early 15th century that used the term rinascitГ ( rebirth or renaissance ) to describe their own age as one in which learning, literature, music and the arts were reborn after a long, dark Middle Ages. Ignorance is the assumption that one can understand all about the world around them. An ignorant person is so confident they comprehend the truth, that they are blind to the greater truth. Anton Chekhov and Sophoclesdeal with the idea of this sinful pride that leads to ignorance in their respective works, The Cherry Orchard and Oedipus Rex. In each drama, certain characters are slapped in the face with the truth; the light is revealed. However, these characters make the connection when it is too late. Social commentary is a skill used by artist of every deviation to making remarks on sundry issues society faces and in Dickens case, he uses his words to lessen the social gap between the poor and rich. Dickens leads the reader into his novel immediately by explaining that Ebenezer Scroogeis a harsh miser whose only friend and partner, Jacob Marley, died 7 years ago on Christmas Eve. After he spends his day at the counting house, Scrooge returns to his house and as he lies in bed, Marly burst into his chambers wearing, the chain I forged in life, (Dickens 16), bestowing upon him a prophecy: 3 Spirits will haunt him, however his consent is paramount if wants a proper afterlife. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (previously described as non insulin dependent diabetes) is a condition due to hyperglycemia that accompanies a relative rather than an absolute insulin deficiency. It appears as a consequence of the alteration (genetically inherited or acquired) of insulin secretion, sometimes associated with peripheral insulin resistance. Impaired ability to absorb certain macronutrients such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins can lead to a large spectrum of chronic complications that involve more or less all tissues of the human body. Globally, an estimated 422 million adults are living with diabetes mellitus, according to the latest 2016 data from the World Health Organization. Diabetes Mellitus affects an estimated 29.1 million people in the United States and is the 7th leading cause of death. T2DM includes a heterogeneous group of diseases that associate in different degrees two major metabolic defects: beta cell insulin secretion defect and insulin resistance of the peripheral tissues. Obesity and insulin resistance are characteristic for the majority (80 90%) of T2DM cases (Obese T2DM). The sine qua non condition for the progression from the preclinical phases (prediabetes) to the overt hyperglycemia stages is represented by the presence of the insulin secretion beta cell defect. A lack of compensation for insulin resistance will lead to evolution towards T2DM. The first sign of
