My service Project
Last summer I went to Managua, Nicaragua for ten days
with a church group where I carried out mission work with
several different orphanages in the area. We improved
their living conditions, help distribute and cook meals at the
shelters, and most importantly we gave the children at the
orphanages plenty of activities for them to have fun and
enjoy their summer.
3. + Our first project
The ceilings of one of the orphanages was very dirty and
covered with stains. We took out each individual tile and
used new fresh white paint to give the orphanage a cleaner
updated living environment.

We took the kids of one of the
orphanages to the zoo,
And then to a movie
afterwards. The kids were
thrilled, as most of them had
not been to the
zoo nor movie theater.

At each orphanage we
brought art supplies to
entertain the kids, we drew
pictures, sang songs and
played games. We donated
lots of art supplies the
children could use after we
left.
Art and Crafts
6. Between the service
+ projects we were able to
really form relationships
with the children through
the course of the trip.
Whether we were playing
games or simply hanging
around learning about
each others’ cultures the
kids were always excited
to see us.
7. + My mission trip consisted of several other activities that
are not pictured, such as taking the kids from the
orphanages to a water park, having a carnival, and bible
studies in the evenings to end each day. I will cherish the
time I was able to service others while in Nicaragua and it
was an experience I will never forget.
