June 7, 2015- Sunday Message -EXPECTING THE BEST FROM GODCatherine Lirio
This document discusses having strong faith in God and expecting the best from Him. It provides several biblical examples of people who expected miraculous outcomes from God through their faith, including David's victory over Goliath. The document outlines things believers can do to develop strong faith and expect the best from God, such as tuning in to God every morning, thinking of His promises throughout the day, trusting in His unfailing love during hard times, and meeting regularly with other believers to encourage one another. Having faith and expecting God to act is key to experiencing His miracles.
JUNE , 2015- Sunday Message-STRONG FAITH IN GODCatherine Lirio
The document discusses faith from several biblical passages. It describes faith as being sure of what is hoped for and certain of what is not seen. It provides examples of people in the Bible who demonstrated faith, including Noah building the ark, Abraham obeying God's call to leave his home, Abel offering an acceptable sacrifice to God, Moses leaving Egypt without fear of the king, and the walls of Jericho falling after being marched around. These people were all commended for their faith, yet did not receive what was promised in their lifetimes, as God had planned for faith to be made perfect together with believers.
This document discusses the importance and benefits of prayer. It provides definitions of what it means to be "prayerful", noting that prayer requires commitment to God and being open to God's will rather than our own. Several biblical passages are presented that teach about prayer, such as Jesus instructing disciples how to pray and the need to pray continually. The document emphasizes that prayer should not be taken lightly and that through persistent prayer, God will provide what we need.
The document outlines the game plan for a course on the Bible. It begins with an introduction where the Bible is described as a mirror that reflects reality. It then covers four main steps: 1) being born again, 2) understanding who Jesus is, 3) Jesus' sacrifice makes atonement possible, and 4) accepting Jesus through faith and prayer. The goal is to help students understand the Bible and have salvation through faith in Christ.
Jesus tells a rich ruler that to inherit eternal life he must sell all his possessions and give the money to the poor. When the ruler becomes sorrowful because he is wealthy, Jesus says it is difficult for rich people to enter the kingdom of God, like trying to fit a camel through the eye of a needle. Those who hear this ask who can be saved, and Jesus responds that with God all things are possible.
How do we learn to pray? There are many prayers in the Bible we can learn from. The prayer of Jabez? Yes. The prayer of Jesus? Yes. We will consider the teaching of Jesus on this subject to understand his power for living.
Psalm 13: Where is God? How long until Jehovah acts? Jehovah’s promises to Abraham remind us that He has a plan and will keep His promises; but on His timetable. We can learn at least five lessons: 1) He’s doing what’s best for me; 2) He’s preparing me; 3) Keep seeking Him; 4) Keep trusting Him; and, 5) Be steadfast and love Him.
Cornelius was a Roman centurion who feared God and prayed regularly. He had a vision where an angel told him to send for Simon Peter. Peter came and shared the gospel, telling Cornelius that anyone who seeks God will find him, including those from other religions or backgrounds. God made sure Cornelius found the truth of Christianity, demonstrating that whoever is willing can be saved.

The document discusses the concept of faith as presented in the Bible. It defines faith as trusting without seeing, being sure of what is hoped for, and having evidence of what is not seen. It provides examples from the Bible of individuals who demonstrated great faith, such as Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Moses, and others. It asserts that those who will have the faith of Jesus are those who keep the commandments of God. Faith is portrayed as an active response to God's word that makes the impossible possible by seeing the invisible as visible.
This document provides an overview of a sermon series titled "The Author" about Jesus Christ. It discusses Jesus as the author and perfecter of faith. The series will explore Jesus as the captain, pioneer, leader, and champion who was willing to die and be tested for what he believed in. The first sermon discusses the beginning of Jesus' story as told in the book of Mark, focusing on John the Baptist preparing the way for Jesus and baptizing people to repent from sin. It also gives background on John the Baptist being told from a young age that his role was to clear the way for an important figure, even if he wasn't the important one himself.

Sermon 2016 # 1 church slides the gospel and salvation the story of zacch...SSMC
This document provides a summary and analysis of the biblical story of Zacchaeus found in Luke 19:1-10. It describes how Jesus sought out Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector, and dined at his home, sparking Zacchaeus' repentance and restoration efforts. The document argues that salvation comes through God's sovereign work, not human effort alone, and must be evidenced by repentance and a changed life, not just words. It also distinguishes between a "gospel of salvation" focused just on the soul, and the "gospel of the kingdom" which impacts all of society.
This document summarizes a message given by Nik Ball about God's vision for the RRCC church. It discusses several things God has said to the church based on passages from Genesis and Isaiah, including that God will go with the church as it moves forward and fulfill all his promises. God has called the church to be a light to Gentiles and has given visions of replanting and regrowth. The church needs to respond through deeper worship, pursuing new premises and ministries, and all members getting involved through cell groups and serving. Individual and collective response is important to avoid missing out on what God is doing and hindering church growth.
This document contains excerpts from the Bible discussing faith and the future. Hebrews 13 encourages having faith in God rather than fearing people. Hebrews 12 says to run the race of life with endurance, fixing eyes on Jesus. James 4 warns that people should not presume what tomorrow will bring and instead say "if the Lord wills." Revelation 21 describes God making all things new and wiping away tears in heaven. Philippians 3 says to forget the past and press on toward perfection through Christ.
Isaiah prophesied about the birth, life, and reign of Jesus Christ. He saw three things: 1) A cradle, referring to Jesus's incarnation as both fully God and fully man. 2) A cross, referring to Jesus willingly suffering death to provide salvation. 3) A crown, referring to Jesus's future glory and eternal reign over all creation as the ruler appointed by God. Together, the cradle, cross, and crown depict the past, present, and future aspects of God's salvation plan accomplished through the coming of Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah delivered a sermon condemning the people for thinking that merely having the temple was enough to please God, rather than living righteously. He warned that God would send them into exile and destroy the temple for their deceptive words and actions. Similarly today, merely attending church is not enough - God wants people to obey him fully and not just participate in religious activities. The sermon calls people to commit their entire lives to God, not just dedicate one day a week to him.
The document discusses the effectiveness of prayer through several biblical examples. It describes how Elijah's prayer for fire to consume a sacrifice was answered, while the prayers of false prophets to Baal went unanswered. Daniel is presented as a model of faithful prayer, continuing to pray regularly even when banned by the king. The document encourages praying with faith, believing that God will answer according to his will. It suggests prayer should include requests, but also adoration, confession, thanksgiving and praise.
Message series i am - part 1 - the great i am - pastor chuck bernal - 02-12-17LifePointe Church
This message is Part 1 of the message series "I AM" by Pastor Chuck Bernal. In this message titled, "Jesus The Great I AM", Pastor Chuck discusses the claim that Jesus made to be "I AM". By going back to the story of Moses and the burning bush, he gives the meaning of the name "I AM" and how it was used in Scripture to describe God and how it is also used to describe Jesus - because Jesus is indeed God.

Sabbath school lesson 11, 4th quarter of 2016David Syahputra
God answers Job out of a whirlwind and questions him about his knowledge and understanding of creation. God introduces Himself as the Creator and appeals to Job's wisdom by describing various aspects of nature that Job cannot explain. Job acknowledges that he spoke without knowledge of things too wonderful for him to understand and sees that God is greater than he had known. He repents in dust and ashes.
The document discusses the signs of genuine faith according to several passages from the Bible. It describes how some people saw Jesus' signs but still did not believe, showing their faith was insincere and inconsistent. True faith requires enough evidence to believe, a response through action, and confirmation like the father who believed when Jesus said his son would live and he was healed at that exact time. Faith ultimately comes from hearing the message of Christ and responding to it.
Exodus helps us to understand that Jehovah is the name of God Almighty; it refers to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and most importantly, we must obey Him!

It provides examples of Abel, Enoch, and Noah who demonstrated their faith through worshipping, walking with, and working for God, respectively. It also discusses Abraham, who demonstrated faith by waiting on God and making his home in the Promised Land as a stranger. The document teaches that faith is seeing what is unseen and pleasing God, and encourages believers to have the same kind of living faith through worship, obedience, service, and patience.
1. Jesus sees a man blind from birth and heals him by making mud, putting it on his eyes, and telling him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man comes back seeing.
2. Neighbors question if it is the same man, while others doubt. The Pharisees question the man about how his eyes were opened and on what day, as it was the Sabbath.
3. The Pharisees are divided on whether Jesus is from God. Jesus later finds the man and asks if he believes in the Son of Man, revealing himself as the one speaking to him.
Preaching The Good News Through The Big ScreenJosh Linman
The document discusses how movies can be used to preach the good news. It provides examples of movie plots that relate to biblical themes or verses, such as Sister Act, Elf, Les Miserables, and Philomena. The author argues that the church should bring the good news to people outside the church in order to reach a wide range of people. Movies can be a way to enter others' worlds and experiences things from their point of view to help lead people to God.

John 9 is about Jesus healing a man born blind. When Jesus' disciples ask if the man's blindness was due to his own or his parents' sins, Jesus says neither caused it, but it was so God's works could be displayed. Jesus heals the man by making mud and having him wash in the Pool of Siloam. Though the man receives physical sight, he requires further revelation from Jesus to believe. The Jewish leaders question the healing, which causes division.
Cursing and cleansing mark 11-12-25 - jan 19, 2014John Smith
This document provides analysis of Jesus' actions during his final week in Jerusalem before his crucifixion according to the Gospel of Mark. It summarizes Jesus cursing a fig tree for not bearing fruit and cleansing the temple of money changers, describing both acts as symbolizing God's judgment of religious hypocrisy. It then explains Jesus' lessons about faith and prayer from these events, emphasizing the need for one's inner faith to match their outward words and actions. The document encourages self-reflection on whether one's faith is genuine or merely superficial when examined closely.
Praying To Move Mountains Mark 11:20-26Cybermissions
This document discusses having faith to move mountains and command things to happen through prayer. It provides several Bible verses about moving mountains through faith and examples of people in the Bible commanding things like healing. The document encourages having specific faith for solutions, believing what you command will happen, developing prayer pictures, and continuing to pray even if a mountain does not immediately move. It emphasizes having love and thinking sensibly as God distributes faith.
The document discusses the concept of faith as presented in the Bible. It defines faith as trusting without seeing, being sure of what is hoped for, and having evidence of what is not seen. The document provides an in-depth analysis of the Parable of the Mustard Seed told by Jesus. It examines the elements of the parable, including the small mustard seed representing the Word of God, and how it grows into the largest plant in the garden to represent the growth of God's kingdom/church. It explores Jesus' purpose in telling the parable to convey that the kingdom of God starts small but grows greatly, and that great things can come from small beginnings through faith in God.
Jesus heals a boy with a mute spirit that causes seizures and harm. When the disciples are unable to heal the boy, Jesus rebukes the spirit and heals him. Jesus tells the father that all things are possible for those who believe. Later, the disciples ask Jesus privately why they could not heal the boy. Jesus tells them that some spirits can only be cast out through prayer and fasting.
Pastor Elio Marrocco's "Does Prayer Make Any Difference?" sermon at New Life Christian Church on January 8, 2012. You can read the sermon text here: http://newlifecc.ca/does-prayer-make-any-difference
This document discusses the antidote to death that is found in Christ. It argues that the solution to life's difficulties is found within through faith in God, not in external circumstances. It references several Bible passages about having faith and not fainting in prayer. It discusses how the true identity of man is spiritual, not physical, and is found in Christ within. It challenges the idea of praying "if it be thy will" regarding healing, arguing that God's will as expressed in the atonement is already for healing. It quotes John G. Lake saying that sickness has no power if seen as unreal and not part of our true spiritual nature in Christ.
The parable of the mustard seed illustrates how the Kingdom of God or Church started small like a mustard seed but grew into a large plant. Jesus used this parable to show that though the Church would have humble beginnings with him and his 12 disciples, it would expand greatly. Today over 2 billion people identify as Christian, showing how the Church grew massively from small origins, just as the mustard seed grows into a large bush.
The document provides an overview and analysis of Numbers 21:4-9 and John 3:1-17. It summarizes that:
1) Numbers 21 describes God sending fiery serpents to punish the Israelites for complaining, and commanding Moses to lift up a bronze serpent so those who looked at it would live;
2) Jesus references this story in teaching Nicodemus about being "born again" through believing in the Son of Man being lifted up, just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness;
3) Jesus' crucifixion fulfills this symbolism, as He was lifted up so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life and be saved from the penalty
The document discusses the power of believing, speaking, and faith. It references several Bible passages that portray faith as small as a mustard seed being able to accomplish great things. Jesus tells his disciples that if they have faith as small as a mustard seed, they can command a mulberry tree to be uprooted and it will obey. The document also references the story of Jesus cursing a fig tree for not bearing fruit and the tree immediately withering, demonstrating the power of one's words when spoken in faith.
This document discusses three spiritual gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12: wisdom, knowledge, and faith. It provides biblical examples and explanations of each gift. Wisdom is described as supernatural direction from God for specific situations. Knowledge involves revelations from God about hidden truths. Faith allows believers to act in faith to accomplish God's purposes. The document aims to help readers understand these gifts and how they operated in the early church.
This document discusses the power and importance of confession according to Christian beliefs. It asserts that what you confess shapes what you become and that words have the power to bring freedom or bondage. It encourages careful consideration of one's words and thoughts, as confession reveals what is in one's heart. Bad confessions that contradict beliefs can prevent receiving promises from God, while faithful confession of God's word through one's testimony can glorify God and overcome challenges through faith.
Sermon Slide Deck: "The Feast Jesus Provides" (Luke 9:10-17)New City Church
Jesus of Nazareth is the Lord of the Feast who satisfies our deepest hunger.
This message was given on May 4, 2014 at New City Church in Calgary by Pastor John Ferguson. Visit www.newcitychurch.ca for more info.
The document discusses how the disciples failed to cast out a certain demon despite having authority from Jesus to perform miracles. It says they lacked faith and did not fast, which is necessary for some demons. Fasting raises one's spiritual authority and causes God's glory and presence to act as a shield. The after-effects of fasting include healing, righteousness, God's guidance, and strength to continue building up generations. Fasting uproots and destroys evil influences to make way for new growth.

Three events in Jesus' life reveal the Trinity:
1. His baptism where God says "This is my Son"
2. His conception where the angel says he will be called "Son of God"
3. His transfiguration where God says "This is my Son, listen to him"
In this lesson we examine Mary, Martha, and Lazarus and the call to Jesus for help. Both audio and slides can be viewed together at www.cmcoc.org
Sermon by: Brian Birdow
The document discusses several biblical passages about faith and studying the word of God. It encourages examining scripture daily to ensure what is being taught is true according to the Bible. It emphasizes that the Bible is the foundation, infallible, powerful, and God's voice. When studying, one should pray for understanding, be open-minded, and test what others say against scripture. Love and the fruit of the spirit are most important. The document provides tips for studying such as considering context and walking out verses in one's life.
Jesus concludes his Sermon on the Mount by likening those who hear his words but do not act on them to a foolish man who builds his house on sand. In contrast, those who hear and obey are like a wise man who builds on rock. After finishing the sermon, Jesus impresses the crowds with his authoritative teaching. He then begins a second tour of Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing the sick. During this time, he raises the son of a widow from the dead in the village of Nain, demonstrating his power over death.
The document discusses the relationship between truth and faith. It asserts that truth cannot be modified to accommodate facts that contradict it. It also discusses how faith allows believers to experience the truth revealed in scripture and receive God's promises. The document outlines 10 principles of faith, such as all things being possible through faith, receiving according to one's faith, faith being released through spoken words, and different levels of faith. It posits that worry, fear and doubt can negate faith.
The document discusses whether Christianity should be enticing or offensive in its message. It argues that Christianity should be offensive based on what the Bible says. It provides several reasons for this:
1) The Bible says that salvation comes through hearing the word of God, not by observing someone's lifestyle. The gospel message must therefore be verbalized rather than just demonstrated through lifestyle.
2) Jesus himself directly confronted people with the message of salvation, rather than just living a good lifestyle before them.
3) The apostles like Peter and Paul actively preached and taught about Jesus, rather than practicing "lifestyle evangelism."
4) The simplicity of the gospel - that salvation comes through faith in Christ alone
This document is a sermon by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome discussing the concept of faith and possibility. The key points are:
1. Attending Christ Embassy church teaches followers about living according to the spirit of God's word, which allows His vision to be manifested in their lives and influence others.
2. True faith, even in small amounts, allows believers to accomplish anything according to God's word. Having faith means acting on God's promises without seeing results.
3. Words have power and believers must be careful with their speech, as confessing difficulties can manifest them. Speaking God's promises over one's life aligns it with His vision of blessings and success.

Suzanne Lagerweij - Influence Without Power - Why Empathy is Your Best Friend...Suzanne Lagerweij
This is a workshop about communication and collaboration. We will experience how we can analyze the reasons for resistance to change (exercise 1) and practice how to improve our conversation style and be more in control and effective in the way we communicate (exercise 2).
This session will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
Abstract:
Let’s talk about powerful conversations! We all know how to lead a constructive conversation, right? Then why is it so difficult to have those conversations with people at work, especially those in powerful positions that show resistance to change?
Learning to control and direct conversations takes understanding and practice.
We can combine our innate empathy with our analytical skills to gain a deeper understanding of complex situations at work. Join this session to learn how to prepare for difficult conversations and how to improve our agile conversations in order to be more influential without power. We will use Dave Gray’s Empathy Mapping, Argyris’ Ladder of Inference and The Four Rs from Agile Conversations (Squirrel and Fredrick).
In the session you will experience how preparing and reflecting on your conversation can help you be more influential at work. You will learn how to communicate more effectively with the people needed to achieve positive change. You will leave with a self-revised version of a difficult conversation and a practical model to use when you get back to work.
Come learn more on how to become a real influencer!

Carrer goals.pptx and their importance in real lifeartemacademy2
Career goals serve as a roadmap for individuals, guiding them toward achieving long-term professional aspirations and personal fulfillment. Establishing clear career goals enables professionals to focus their efforts on developing specific skills, gaining relevant experience, and making strategic decisions that align with their desired career trajectory. By setting both short-term and long-term objectives, individuals can systematically track their progress, make necessary adjustments, and stay motivated. Short-term goals often include acquiring new qualifications, mastering particular competencies, or securing a specific role, while long-term goals might encompass reaching executive positions, becoming industry experts, or launching entrepreneurial ventures.
Moreover, having well-defined career goals fosters a sense of purpose and direction, enhancing job satisfaction and overall productivity. It encourages continuous learning and adaptation, as professionals remain attuned to industry trends and evolving job market demands. Career goals also facilitate better time management and resource allocation, as individuals prioritize tasks and opportunities that advance their professional growth. In addition, articulating career goals can aid in networking and mentorship, as it allows individuals to communicate their aspirations clearly to potential mentors, colleagues, and employers, thereby opening doors to valuable guidance and support. Ultimately, career goals are integral to personal and professional development, driving individuals toward sustained success and fulfillment in their chosen fields.

HOW TO BELIEVE YOU RECEIVE
A SERMON BY PASTOR LANRE ONASANYA (SPIRIT OF LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE)
PRESENTATION BY EMMANUEL OPARA (EMMAXSON@GMAIL.COM)
Mark 11:23
3. Jesus speaks to a
fig tree…
(Mark 11:12-14)
And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany,
he was hungry:
And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if
haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came
to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was
not yet.
And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of
thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it
(Mark 11:12-14)
4. The fig tree dries
up…
(Mark 11:20-21)
And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig
tree dried up from the roots.
And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master,
behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
(Mark 11:20-21)
5. What Jesus had
to say about
what
happened…
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this
mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the
sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that
those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall
have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall
have them.
(Mark 11:22-24)
6. “
”
For verily I say unto you, That
WHOSOEVER SHALL SAY unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and SHALL NOT DOUBT in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall
come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith.
MARK 11:23
10. You have to say
what you believe
You must say what you believe… You have to express your
believe…
You may say: “what I believe is inside me,” but dear friend
NO! The mountain doesn’t respond to what is inside you,
the mountain responds to what you say.
Did you notice, in that part of scripture, we are not
instructed to pray* about the mountain, but to do what?
SAY TO THE MOUNTAIN.
* not that prayer is not recommended or is not good
11. You don’t talk
about the
mountain, you
speak to the
mountain
A PROBLEM SHARED IS HALF SOLVED???
Some of us talk about the mountain in the name of sharing
our circumstances with people. This isn’t totally bad but
truthfully, how many times does this solve the problem? We
even notice that it sometimes compounds the problem.
Notice we are not instructed to talk about it; The Word says
SAY TO THE MOUNTAIN…
SHOULD I SHARE MY PROBLEMS?
Yes! Share with people that need to know about the
problem; those higher in authority; but don’t magnify the
problem when doing this.
12. Many of our
Mountains are
not moving
because we are
not speaking
Jesus did not deny the fact there would be mountains or
that there are mountains but what are you doing about it?
SPEAK TO THAT MOUNTAIN TODAY!
Say:
• This body is healed!
• These debts are cleared
• I am a success in this examination
• I enjoy favour
• I am working in power and victory
…say whatever you need to say to that mountain…
SPEAK TO THAT MOUNTAIN TODAY!
13. “
”
If your faith cannot move your
mouth, it cannot move your
mountain
PASTOR LANRE ONASANYA
(SPIRIT OF LIFE CHRISTIAN CENTRE)
Faith and Confession go hand-in-hand.
If you believe, therefore you speak.
14. Even our
salvation is
gotten via
confessing what
we believe
(Romans 10:9-10)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
(Romans 10:9-10)
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written,
I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe,
and therefore speak;
(2 Corinthians 4:13)
15. “
”
…that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and things in earth, and
things under the earth;
PHILIPPIANS 2:10 KJV
We have the name of Jesus to ourselves; we just need to use it by faith.
Speak to that mountain in the name of Jesus
16. Remember there
will always be
mountain BUT…
(John 16:33)
“…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good
cheer; I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)
*** YOU SPEAK TO YOUR MOUNTAINS!
*** YOU PRAY TO (COMMUNE/FELLOWSHIP WITH) GOD!
AFTER YOU PRAY TO GOD; FACE YOUR MOUNTAINS!
17. “
”
…all things are possible to him
that believeth.
MARK 9:23 KJV
All things, not some things or a few things but ALL THINGS are possible to him that believes.
19. “
”
For verily I say unto you, That
WHOSOEVER SHALL SAY unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and SHALL NOT DOUBT in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall
come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith.
MARK 11:23
I HAVE WHAT I SAY…
IF YOU SAY FOR ME, IT’S GOOD, BUT IT REALLY MIGHT NOT GET TOO FAR,
BUT WHEN I SAY WHAT I HAVE TO SAY, BELIEVING I HAVE WHAT I SAY, THEN I HAVE WHAT I SAY.
