The document discusses faith from several biblical passages. It describes faith as being sure of what is hoped for and certain of what is not seen. It provides examples of people in the Bible who demonstrated faith, including Noah building the ark, Abraham obeying God's call to leave his home, Abel offering an acceptable sacrifice to God, Moses leaving Egypt without fear of the king, and the walls of Jericho falling after being marched around. These people were all commended for their faith, yet did not receive what was promised in their lifetimes, as God had planned for faith to be made perfect together with believers.
Isaiah 9:6-7 Jesus would be called or known as Everlasting Father. Jesus is God. Jesus and the Father are one. Those who had seen Jesus had seen God. Jesus had divine attributes. Both the Father and Jesus called themselves the Alpha and the Omega. Hebrews says their throne will be forever. Together, they worked to reconcile the world to God.
Gen 5:21-24 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
Exodus helps us to understand that Jehovah is the name of God Almighty; it refers to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and most importantly, we must obey Him!

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

5. Matthew 9:27 As Jesus went on from
there, two blind men followed him,
calling out, "Have mercy on us, Son of
David!"
Matthew 9:28 When he had gone
indoors, the blind men came to him, and
he asked them, "Do you believe that I am
able to do this?" "Yes, Lord," they replied.
6. Matthew 9:29 Then he touched
their eyes and said, "According to
your faith will it be done to you";
Matthew 9:30 and their sight was
restored. Jesus warned them
sternly, "See that no one knows
about this."
7.
8. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
Now faith is being sure
of what we hope for
and certain of what we
do not see..
9. JAMES 1:6-7 (NIV)
But when you ask, you must believe
and not doubt, because the one who
doubts is like a wave of the sea,
blown and tossed by the wind. 7That
person should not expect to receive
anything from the Lord.
10. Hebrews 11:7 (NLT)
It was by faith that Noah built an ark to
save his family from the flood. He
obeyed God, who warned him about
something that had never happened
before. By his faith he condemned the
rest of the world and was made right in
God's sight.
11. Hebrews 11:8 (NLT)
It was by faith that Abraham
obeyed when God called him to
leave home and go to another land
that God would give him as his
inheritance. He went without
knowing where he was going.
12. Hebrews 11:4 (GNB)
It was faith that made Abel offer to God
a better sacrifice than Cain's.Through
his faith he won God's approval as a
righteous man, because God himself
approved of his gifts. By means of his
faith Abel still speaks, even though he is
dead.
13. Hebrews 11:27
By faith he left Egypt, not
fearing the king's anger; he
persevered because he saw
him who is invisible.
14. Hebrews 11:27 (GW)
Faith led Moses to leave Egypt
without being afraid of the king's
anger. Moses didn't give up but
continued as if he could actually
see the invisible God.
15. Hebrews 11:30
By faith the walls of Jericho
fell, after the people had
marched around them for
seven days.
16. Hebrews 11:38
the world was not worthy
of them.They wandered in
deserts and mountains, and
in caves and holes in the
ground.
17. Hebrews 11:39
These were all commended
for their faith, yet none of
them received what had
been promised.
18. Hebrews 11:40
God had planned
something better for us so
that only together with us
would they be made
perfect.
