My Professional And Personal Life
Over the course of this semester the way I approach my professional and personal life has evolved. I came to a realization that it is crucial to plan,
however, most of the times things don't go as planned. Especially, career wise I believe that choosing the consulting route would be the best option
for me, however things might drastically change over the next few years. However, I still believe that setting a guidelines for myself and trying to
comprehend what I want to achieve and what my aims are, are crucial in helping me lay out a path for the future. In pursuit of that, in todays' paper
I fist of all want to discover my preferences for the type of environment I need to thrive professionally. In addition to this, I want to evaluate myself
and discover how I want my life to be. And finally after exploring where I stand and the shortcomings that I face, I want to use this paper to come
up with measures to effectively achieve my goals and work on my flaws. The fast paced world we live in, things change constantly, and however,
there are certain factors about work environment that I want to be consistent to ensure my progress professionally. For instance diversity is immensely
important to me. I am an international student, so if I am able to work here in the United States, I am looking for a company that is tolerant towards
different ethnicities and incorporates diversity as one of its core values. A company culture where people are treated equally irrespective of their

Donald Murray The Revising Process Of Writing
According to Donald M. Murray, revising a work of writing is an essential procedure a writer goes through. As many other professional writers have
mentioned, "Writing is rewriting," they see each draft as an opportunity to rebuild their work since there's never a feeling of satisfaction. In his essay,
Murray incorporates the experiences of authors Peter F. Drucker, Ray Bradbury, John Ciardi, Eleanor Estes, and others to make an argument on how
important the revising and editing process are when writing for an audience. Murray divides his essay into three main sections which are becoming the
enemy of our first draft, using the seven elements of writing such as the audience and information, and lastly finding the potential and alternatives of

Regardless of what career a person holds, there will always be personal/professional accountability and opportunities for advancement. The nursing
profession is a unique field that evolves based on evidence–based practice as well as advances in medicine and technology. As such, the nursing
profession requires nurses to not only stay up to date about latest practices but also advance themselves. One way that nurses stay current is by
continuing to pursue advance degrees and certificates through education and taking on higher positions in their profession. Finally, nurses must be
accountable for their actions both personally and personally in order to protect their patient's privacy and health. For example, if a nurse makes a
medication error and reports it there is an increased chance of preventing harm and/or death of a patient. In the following essay the writer will reflect
on her personal and professional accountability as well as what her career goals are for the future.
Personal and professional accountability is very important in nursing because it ensures that nurses are providing safe and efficient patient care. Some
personal strengths that this writer possess are caring attitude and having work–life balance. A few professional accountabilities that this writer possess
is good time management, not being prejudice towards co–workers and/or patients and being conscious of financial cost of wasted resources. For

Professionalism : Being A Professional
"If you were a real professional, you 'd build a bridge and get over it." By Jacqueline E. Smith, author of Between Worlds. A very common
definition of professionalism is "the competence or skill expected of a professional" but to me professionalism is to behaving as a responsible
individual, while staying away from immature attitudes at professional sating. Professionalism is some thing that you learned by adhering to work
place standard of professionalism. However, there are certain universal professionalism behavior that is accepted from an individual whenever they
enter work environment. Moreover, being professional means that an individual understand the code of conduct, and accepted behaviors of their
professional institute. For me, being a professional is consists of many parts; one of the most important thing is having the knowledge of the work you
are required to perform or do on a regular basis. The third most important skill is being honest by admitting the mistake that you had made and finding
a solution to recompensed the error you had made. To me it is important to show that even if I have made an error I am willing to learn from my
mistakes. Also, most institution made their employers sign a confidentiality agreement, so it is important for a professional individual to maintain their
institution confidentiality every where they go. Another important skill that professional have to is to hide their emotions and put up their happy face
while they are at their

Essay Professional and Personal Goals
Introduction
For the past eleven years I have been working in the web designing and development field, specifically for colleges and universities. Beginning at
Peirce College, while pursuing my undergraduate degree in information technology, and working as a work–study student on the college's website, I
was able to acquire experience and web development and design techniques that are used in a higher educational setting. After graduation from Peirce, I
was employed as the web manager and eventually assistant director of web communications at Philadelphia University, where I continued to learn
techniques specific for universities, such as how to design site that appeal to prospective students, how to manage different faculty, staff,...show more

Weaknesses
Introvert tendencies – When working on projects, I sometimes like to just be alone, with music and just focus completely on that one project. I also
tend to not speak up in meetings and group settings, even if I have a great idea, I usually dwell on it and the idea get presented by someone else or I
just don't get my idea across as well as I would have liked to.
Lacks of business savvy – I feel like I lack that know–how of how to start a business, where to get capital, legal information, or writing a business plan.

Professional Writing Essay
"To write is human, to write well is divine" (Anonymous, 2010). So, why is it important to write professionally and what constitutes professional
writing? Contrary to popular belief, professional writing is not merely being paid to write; although, professional writers are paid well. In short,
professional writing is writing at the next level with a purpose. It is important to show the basic aspects of professional writing (knowing the audience,
knowing the purpose, being persuasive, and getting to the point) so that one is able to accomplish the act of communicating effectively and looking
professional in doing so.
Let's not confuse professional writing (business writing) with recreational writing (creative writing). When one...show more content...
Writing the message with the audience in mind will not only help shape the style of the message itself but the tone in which it is presented as well as
the formality of the language used. Tone is the main tool used to effectively and efficiently sell the message and its purpose. Advanced word usage
(conversational yet professional, positive, courteous, inclusive and familiar to the reader) is important in writing. Use of active or passive voice,
emphasis through style, coherent sentence structure, coherent paragraph structure and placement of the main idea within the message are all used to
set the tone and shape the readers frame of mind. Tone also dictates the clarity in which the message is delivered. The most important thing is to format
the document and design the content of your message with the reader in mind so that they will understand the message clearly and quickly as well as
accept the message readily.
Professional writing is not industry specific or medium specific. For that matter it is not just for professionals or professional purposes. It is not just
for writing a novel or a business letter or inter–office memo. It can be used for direct messages that require action, making requests, delivery of bad
news, giving instruction, reports or proposals, marketing, school research projects, goodwill messages, or something as informal as sending an email
to a family member. Is the address correct? Does the subject line summarize the idea of the

Reflection On My English 101 Experience
Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and
done. However, you rarely get successful. The truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in the
middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my
essay, and identify my weaknesses. Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before taking this class, I
use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing,
and most importantly I struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to the deadline that I do not
have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it
holds the base of the whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for navigation to explain the
importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate
enough to learning in English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the

Professional Interview Essay
The overall education level of the population around the world has been increasing, and more people entering the work force have a college degree.
Here are some professional employment tips to help recent college graduates to stand out when searching for a job.
"The Real World" Recent graduate students have a hard time adjusting to the "real world" because the way they behaved in college should not be
carried on to the work force. The most common mistake inexperienced job seekers make is dressing inappropriately in an interview, where first
impressions are critical. According to Tuhro, "You should dress within the appropriate parameters of the title you are interviewing for, with a touch of
personal style" (Tuhro, 2014). People judge others...show more content...
However, there are still a lot of job opportunities for people, and they need to find the correct and smart way to look for a job. People should put
effort into looking for a job and take time to prepare for the job interview. Then, during the interview they should dress appropriately and advertise
their strengths and avoid their weaknesses. Lastly, people should cover up all the private information of themselves on social media and use the
Internet as a platform to expand their network and brand themselves nicely. After doing all the tips above, people's chances for getting a job is

Who Are You As A Writer? Essay
When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer
has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy
is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person
actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my
mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have
convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a
huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society.
When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas
because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on
things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and
even then I was not to the level they

Why I Want To Be A Writer
About halfway through my creative writing degree, I had an existential crisis. Ever since I read Letters to a Young Contrarian at the age of thirteen–
ignore that I only understood about twenty percent of it at the time – I knew I wanted to be a writer. Christopher Hitchens' words inspired me and
sparked a love of literature and intellectual honesty that persists to this day. However, as weeks turned into months in class, I kept thinking, do I even
want to be a writer, and if so, what stories do I want to tell? These thoughts remained and grew louder, creating a mental block that impacted my
creativity and thus made the plethora of writing assignments I was given more unbearable. It was a vicious cycle that led me down a path of

Why I Want To Be A Writer
I want to be a writer when I grow up. Being a writer is hard. The success of your job is dependent not only on whether you have done it well but also
on whether other people think you have done well. I would like to be a writer. I don't know if I can do it. It's like any other job; you never know
until you try. But few other jobs are as dependent on the opinions of others and on something that has no basis in fact or logic. One word out of
place can tear a whole work apart, and yet a few black and white words arranged just so can unleash a world of color and feeling. A spark of inspiration
can create a new world from nothing, metaphorically speaking. It is the gift of God. He gives some people a story to tell and the ability to tell it. Like
any gift from God, it is something to be used to His glory and not taken lightly. To use any gift takes work....show more content...
In college you can major in Creative Writing but many authors recommend that you do not. Instead, they advise that you study Literature instead, the
great works of authors past and present. If you don't know what is good, how can you write something good yourself? Or you can do this outside of
college and simply read the great works of literature on your own, studying what makes these writers great, what writing tricks and techniques make
up their style. The purpose is not to copy them; the purpose is to be inspired. To be awriter you must write. This is the most important piece of advice.
Write anything, even if it's as flat as the floor. The more you use words, the more they become willing to be used by you. The more you write, the
more you have something to write. Writing is both a skill and a gift. It is both acquired and

Professionalism in the workplace, is the absolute key to having a successful, and smoothly run business. Professionalism is something that must
be maintained by every individual within the work setting, especially in health care, whether it is the janitor, activity director, nursing assistant,
doctor, or even the head administrator. Professionalism encompasses many aspects, such as teamwork, attitude, environment, knowledge, morals,
and ethics. Professionalism as a whole is expected of everyone, and is not something that should have to be commended, because I feel it is a
standard. There are varying degrees of how to act professional, and not everyone has the same opinion on what is professional and what is not.
Problems arise when there are differing opinions, because which person is right? It is easy to have a clear picture of what professionalism is when
there are actual guidelines in place, such as the licensed practical nurse (LPN) guidelines. These guidelines, or scope of practice is written out by
the board of nursing in the state of practice (Potter et al., 2011), and then more specific guidelines are written within individual facilities based on the
state. Based off of the LPN guidelines, all LPNs are required to follow their standards of practice, because their education has prepared them for their
profession. It would be considered unprofessional to work outside their scope, for example, taking on the role of the RN when there is no RN present.
LPNs must

I Am A Professional Teacher Essay
To be a professional teacher, it takes skill to train young minds. Education is extremely important to go through. Teachers have many different
philosophies to choose from when teaching in a classroom. Out of the five philosophies, I ranked the highest in Essentialism and Progressivism. Both
of these philosophies are taught entirely different from each other. Essentialism is teacher–centered learning and expresses the teaching by the core
curriculum. Progressivism is student–centered learning and expresses the teaching by doing group work. I believe that a classroom should be divided
between using both philosophies. I believe that a teacher should stick to the core curriculum, but a teacher should also let the students learn by working
together in small groups. The teacher is still giving lectures in front of the classroom, but there is still group work throughout the week. From
experience, I think a combination of both would make the perfect classroom setting. When a classroom is both teacher–centered and student–centered,
students will gain a better education in my opinion. The purpose of education is to further the knowledge of a student. Education is meant to teach
students the essentials of education and to create a better understanding of real–world experiences. From the philosophies, I agree with, education is
working towards students with their knowledge and living in society. Education needs to help students to not only become smarter, but also be able to

As people go through life, they most likely come upon a person who affects their life for the better, and sends them in the right direction. For some,
however, they may never have a person who gives them this push, or perhaps someone had the opportunity to be that person who does the pushing,
but does not. Many people have been propelled to success because of the care of another person. Some of these positive influences may include a
parent, minister, or a friend. Though all three of these persons embody the needs of everybody from time to time, it is the teacher who connects these
together and gives a person more that just an education. In every human's life, they will come in direct contact with a teacher, whether it...show more

I think that teaching a student to have a good character is more important that reading, writing, and arithmetic. I think the greatest profession that a
person will endeavor upon is that of a parent. Most of the students that go through my classroom will become parents one day, and I want them to
have the character that is needed to raise a child in the right ways. I believe that character development is the greatest reward of an education. I want
students to look to me as a model of a good person. I think that is the greatest reward that a teacher can achieve. The feeling of someone going out
learning how to be a good person and doing it based upon my actions is priceless, and will benefit more many more than I may ever know about.
My classroom methods would mostly resemble a traditional classroom in that there is a certain base of knowledge that students should learn before
they can move on. I agree with the essentialist theory because I think that there is much to be learned from the classical material. It has stood the test
of time and much of today's society is based around it. I do not however want to be a lecture–dominated instructor. In college I have grown to like
lecture classrooms because I have the discipline to follow the teacher and take notes, but when I was in high school a lecture class bored me and I
would be daydreaming within five minutes. I think there should be variety in presenting the essential knowledge. Along with

The Importance of Professionalism at Work Essay
Professionalism is defined as one's conduct at work. The quality of professionalism is not restricted to those in occupations with high level of
education or high earnings. Any worker regardless of their level of education or occupation should demonstrate a high level of this trait (About.com,
2013). Acting professionally at workplace makes others think of you as reliable, respectful, and competent. Professionalism, however, can take on
many different forms which depend on where you work and the type of job responsibility you have. There are few common traits when it comes to
being professional (Monster, 2013). This includes being Competent. This traits means that you are good at what you do – and you have the skills and

The professional person should always tell the truth and are upfront about where things stand. Consistency, admitting and correcting the mistakes,
and being fair and truthful are all intertwined to the makeup of one's personal integrity (Octech.edu, 2013). Dishonestly never makes anyone look
good, whether it's lying on one's resume or calling in sick. A true professional is upfront, so if you aren't qualified for the job either does not apply
for it or send in your application anyway and explain why you'd be perfect for the job in spite of it (About.com, 2013). Also the dishonesty is to lie
about being sick, if you need a day off take a personal or vacation day. Professionalism means respect, not misrepresent, discriminate, or harass others.
Showing respect and treating all people as if they mattered are good characters that always make difference in workplace. It is expected that there will
be disagreements with your co–workers, or even your boss, but do not lose control. No matter how upset you are or how strongly you believe you are
right, screaming is not allowed, nor is name calling or door slamming (About.com, 2013). Physical attacks should always be avoided, no matter what.
Professional person should calmly explain his or her opinion and be ready to walk away if the other person. Professional worker is supposed to be
having a positive altitude. No one likes a constant pessimist. Having an upbeat attitude and trying to be

My Professional And Personal Life

  • 1. My Professional And Personal Life Over the course of this semester the way I approach my professional and personal life has evolved. I came to a realization that it is crucial to plan, however, most of the times things don't go as planned. Especially, career wise I believe that choosing the consulting route would be the best option for me, however things might drastically change over the next few years. However, I still believe that setting a guidelines for myself and trying to comprehend what I want to achieve and what my aims are, are crucial in helping me lay out a path for the future. In pursuit of that, in todays' paper I fist of all want to discover my preferences for the type of environment I need to thrive professionally. In addition to this, I want to evaluate myself and discover how I want my life to be. And finally after exploring where I stand and the shortcomings that I face, I want to use this paper to come up with measures to effectively achieve my goals and work on my flaws. The fast paced world we live in, things change constantly, and however, there are certain factors about work environment that I want to be consistent to ensure my progress professionally. For instance diversity is immensely important to me. I am an international student, so if I am able to work here in the United States, I am looking for a company that is tolerant towards different ethnicities and incorporates diversity as one of its core values. A company culture where people are treated equally irrespective of their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Donald Murray The Revising Process Of Writing According to Donald M. Murray, revising a work of writing is an essential procedure a writer goes through. As many other professional writers have mentioned, "Writing is rewriting," they see each draft as an opportunity to rebuild their work since there's never a feeling of satisfaction. In his essay, Murray incorporates the experiences of authors Peter F. Drucker, Ray Bradbury, John Ciardi, Eleanor Estes, and others to make an argument on how important the revising and editing process are when writing for an audience. Murray divides his essay into three main sections which are becoming the enemy of our first draft, using the seven elements of writing such as the audience and information, and lastly finding the potential and alternatives of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The nursing profession is a unique field that evolves based on evidence–based practice as well as advances in medicine and technology. As such, the nursing profession requires nurses to not only stay up to date about latest practices but also advance themselves. One way that nurses stay current is by continuing to pursue advance degrees and certificates through education and taking on higher positions in their profession. Finally, nurses must be accountable for their actions both personally and personally in order to protect their patient's privacy and health. For example, if a nurse makes a medication error and reports it there is an increased chance of preventing harm and/or death of a patient. In the following essay the writer will reflect on her personal and professional accountability as well as what her career goals are for the future. • 4. Professionalism : Being A Professional "If you were a real professional, you 'd build a bridge and get over it." By Jacqueline E. Smith, author of Between Worlds. A very common definition of professionalism is "the competence or skill expected of a professional" but to me professionalism is to behaving as a responsible individual, while staying away from immature attitudes at professional sating. Professionalism is some thing that you learned by adhering to work place standard of professionalism. However, there are certain universal professionalism behavior that is accepted from an individual whenever they enter work environment. Moreover, being professional means that an individual understand the code of conduct, and accepted behaviors of their professional institute. For me, being a professional is consists of many parts; one of the most important thing is having the knowledge of the work you are required to perform or do on a regular basis. The third most important skill is being honest by admitting the mistake that you had made and finding a solution to recompensed the error you had made. To me it is important to show that even if I have made an error I am willing to learn from my mistakes. Also, most institution made their employers sign a confidentiality agreement, so it is important for a professional individual to maintain their institution confidentiality every where they go. Another important skill that professional have to is to hide their emotions and put up their happy face while they are at their Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 7. Professional Writing Essay "To write is human, to write well is divine" (Anonymous, 2010). So, why is it important to write professionally and what constitutes professional writing? Contrary to popular belief, professional writing is not merely being paid to write; although, professional writers are paid well. In short, professional writing is writing at the next level with a purpose. It is important to show the basic aspects of professional writing (knowing the audience, knowing the purpose, being persuasive, and getting to the point) so that one is able to accomplish the act of communicating effectively and looking professional in doing so. Let's not confuse professional writing (business writing) with recreational writing (creative writing). When one...show more content... Writing the message with the audience in mind will not only help shape the style of the message itself but the tone in which it is presented as well as the formality of the language used. Tone is the main tool used to effectively and efficiently sell the message and its purpose. Advanced word usage (conversational yet professional, positive, courteous, inclusive and familiar to the reader) is important in writing. Use of active or passive voice, emphasis through style, coherent sentence structure, coherent paragraph structure and placement of the main idea within the message are all used to set the tone and shape the readers frame of mind. Tone also dictates the clarity in which the message is delivered. The most important thing is to format the document and design the content of your message with the reader in mind so that they will understand the message clearly and quickly as well as accept the message readily. Professional writing is not industry specific or medium specific. For that matter it is not just for professionals or professional purposes. It is not just for writing a novel or a business letter or inter–office memo. It can be used for direct messages that require action, making requests, delivery of bad news, giving instruction, reports or proposals, marketing, school research projects, goodwill messages, or something as informal as sending an email to a family member. • 8. Reflection On My English 101 Experience Reflecting on My English 101 Experience I used to consider writing as tumble words from your mind, write, read it through, fix minor mistakes, and done. However, you rarely get successful. The truth is many students, including myself, struggle with starting to write a word, or getting stuck in the middle without knowing the main point of the writing. After completing English 101, I can explain the writing process, evaluate the strengths of my essay, and identify my weaknesses. Throughout English 101, I learned that the following the writing process was imperative. Before taking this class, I use to always skip the pre–writing step considering that it is just an easy and unnecessary step. Consequently, I struggled to figure how to start writing, and most importantly I struggled to figure out the main point while writing the draft. And then I finish the first draft close to the deadline that I do not have time to read it not to mention revising. It was after I started this class that learned that pre–writing is vital, and requires time and attention as it holds the base of the whole writing. My professor used different analogies such as blueprint for building and map for navigation to explain the importance. It really speeded up my writing after I started to utilize it. I have learned outlining before, but part of the pre–writing that I was fortunate enough to learning in English 101 is the writing triangle. Even before outlining, the topic, purpose, and audience of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. Who Are You As A Writer? Essay When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society. When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and even then I was not to the level they Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. Why I Want To Be A Writer About halfway through my creative writing degree, I had an existential crisis. Ever since I read Letters to a Young Contrarian at the age of thirteen– ignore that I only understood about twenty percent of it at the time – I knew I wanted to be a writer. Christopher Hitchens' words inspired me and sparked a love of literature and intellectual honesty that persists to this day. However, as weeks turned into months in class, I kept thinking, do I even want to be a writer, and if so, what stories do I want to tell? These thoughts remained and grew louder, creating a mental block that impacted my creativity and thus made the plethora of writing assignments I was given more unbearable. • 14. Why I Want To Be A Writer I want to be a writer when I grow up. Being a writer is hard. The success of your job is dependent not only on whether you have done it well but also on whether other people think you have done well. I would like to be a writer. I don't know if I can do it. It's like any other job; you never know until you try. But few other jobs are as dependent on the opinions of others and on something that has no basis in fact or logic. One word out of place can tear a whole work apart, and yet a few black and white words arranged just so can unleash a world of color and feeling. A spark of inspiration can create a new world from nothing, metaphorically speaking. It is the gift of God. He gives some people a story to tell and the ability to tell it. • 16. Professionalism in the workplace, is the absolute key to having a successful, and smoothly run business. Professionalism is something that must be maintained by every individual within the work setting, especially in health care, whether it is the janitor, activity director, nursing assistant, doctor, or even the head administrator. Professionalism encompasses many aspects, such as teamwork, attitude, environment, knowledge, morals, and ethics. Professionalism as a whole is expected of everyone, and is not something that should have to be commended, because I feel it is a standard. There are varying degrees of how to act professional, and not everyone has the same opinion on what is professional and what is not. Problems arise when there are differing opinions, because which person is right? It is easy to have a clear picture of what professionalism is when there are actual guidelines in place, such as the licensed practical nurse (LPN) guidelines. These guidelines, or scope of practice is written out by the board of nursing in the state of practice (Potter et al., 2011), and then more specific guidelines are written within individual facilities based on the state. Based off of the LPN guidelines, all LPNs are required to follow their standards of practice, because their education has prepared them for their profession. It would be considered unprofessional to work outside their scope, for example, taking on the role of the RN when there is no RN present. LPNs must Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. I Am A Professional Teacher Essay To be a professional teacher, it takes skill to train young minds. Education is extremely important to go through. Teachers have many different philosophies to choose from when teaching in a classroom. Out of the five philosophies, I ranked the highest in Essentialism and Progressivism. Both of these philosophies are taught entirely different from each other. Essentialism is teacher–centered learning and expresses the teaching by the core curriculum. Progressivism is student–centered learning and expresses the teaching by doing group work. I believe that a classroom should be divided between using both philosophies. I believe that a teacher should stick to the core curriculum, but a teacher should also let the students learn by working together in small groups. The teacher is still giving lectures in front of the classroom, but there is still group work throughout the week. From experience, I think a combination of both would make the perfect classroom setting. When a classroom is both teacher–centered and student–centered, students will gain a better education in my opinion. The purpose of education is to further the knowledge of a student. Education is meant to teach students the essentials of education and to create a better understanding of real–world experiences. From the philosophies, I agree with, education is working towards students with their knowledge and living in society. Education needs to help students to not only become smarter, but also be able to work in Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For some, however, they may never have a person who gives them this push, or perhaps someone had the opportunity to be that person who does the pushing, but does not. Many people have been propelled to success because of the care of another person. Some of these positive influences may include a parent, minister, or a friend. I think that teaching a student to have a good character is more important that reading, writing, and arithmetic. I think the greatest profession that a person will endeavor upon is that of a parent. Most of the students that go through my classroom will become parents one day, and I want them to have the character that is needed to raise a child in the right ways. I believe that character development is the greatest reward of an education. I want students to look to me as a model of a good person. I think that is the greatest reward that a teacher can achieve. The feeling of someone going out learning how to be a good person and doing it based upon my actions is priceless, and will benefit more many more than I may ever know about. My classroom methods would mostly resemble a traditional classroom in that there is a certain base of knowledge that students should learn before they can move on. I agree with the essentialist theory because I think that there is much to be learned from the classical material. It has stood the test of time and much of today's society is based around it. I do not however want to be a lecture–dominated instructor. In college I have grown to like lecture classrooms because I have the discipline to follow the teacher and take notes, but when I was in high school a lecture class bored me and I would be daydreaming within five minutes. I think there should be variety in presenting the essential knowledge. Along with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. The Importance of Professionalism at Work Essay Professionalism is defined as one's conduct at work. The quality of professionalism is not restricted to those in occupations with high level of education or high earnings. Any worker regardless of their level of education or occupation should demonstrate a high level of this trait (About.com, 2013). Acting professionally at workplace makes others think of you as reliable, respectful, and competent. Professionalism, however, can take on many different forms which depend on where you work and the type of job responsibility you have.
