Crossed the difficult road by Put
In mylife I have walked passmanydifficultroads
The road that has the soundof screaming,
The road that has the sound of losing.
Phoningtomany people foradvice
But meetingalotof phonies
Losingthe confidence infrontof the class
Cos manypeople usedaloophole tocheat
In the secretwaysto make them - rapidlygrow
The worldhas a bunch of fake and fraud
You need tostrive far foryour future
You drive yourcoldcar on the fuzzy road,bumpy.
Havingsomeone care to cheeryouwhenyou fall down
To fightfor a good future,sign.

Analyze on“Crossedthe difficultroad”byPutDej-Udom
Structure:
The poemis free verse because there isnorhyme scheme. Thereisnorhyme scheme here butithas
consonance inthe stanza of the line 6-7 and 9-10 of the words“class”- “cheat” and “fraud”- “future”. It
alsohas a consonance inside the stanza of line 9and 10 as “fake”- “fraud” and“far”- “for”- “future”. The
poemcontains13 lines. Fromline 1-11isthe developingtothe climax,where everythingisset tobe
negative,butthe lasttwolinesare positive.
Imagery:
The poemnot has muchimagery forexample “Losingthe confidence”isasightimage thatshows a
personthat is indecisive infrontof the classand presentingthe workina so quietavoice that no one
can hear eventhe teacher. “Fuzzyroad,bumpy”inline 11 is a sightimage thatshowsthe fog cover
whichlimitsthe reader’ssighttoonlya distance.The word“bumpy”showsthat the road isnot flatand
significanttothe poembecause the bumpyshowsthatthe roadis difficulttopassor to reach a personal
objective.
Tone:
The poembeginswithatone of hesitation, fear,loneliness, desperation anduncertainty.The poemtells
that the soundsof screamingand losstoshow that the speaker meetsmanybadexperiencesthatare
neitherfriendlynorunexpected. The tone of the poemshiftsfromfeartocheer.Thischange gives more
hope.
OtherStylisticDevices:
The poemuses anaphorathat is a repetitionof the initial phrase of “The roadthat has soundof” in lines
2 and 3 to be a starterfor tellingnegative emotions. “Loophole”isanallusionthattellsthe reader itisa
trickystereotype.
Theme and Personal Reflection:
I like thispoembecause I wrote itaboutmyself as I have facedmanydifficultproblemsinmylife,some
can be solvedandsome cannot be solved.Thisisreal life becausepeople face manydifficultthingssuch
as trickypeople wholive everywhere inthe country.There are twosidesinthe world, a groupof good
people andgroupof bad people.There are twowaystolookat the world,positivelyandnegatively.
Whenyoulookin the positive way,there will be adaywhen youcan solve yourproblem ,but if youlook
at the worldin a negative way there will neverbe a wayto solve. Thus,the message isworkhard,find
some goodfriendsandyouwill dowell inthisreal world.
