Horror films have existed for over 100 years, depicting characters like vampires, mad scientists, monsters, and werewolves in gothic settings like spooky mansions. The plot of this proposed film involves a girl who went missing years ago and is now seen being filmed by an anonymous male figure, suggesting she is under his control. The film will use a chain mail plot device where bad things happen if you don't pass on the message. A male teenager will be the first victim and introduce the story. Scenes will take place at the teenager's house, outside at night, and in his bedroom. Props like the girl's white dress and teddy bear are meant to confuse viewers about her innocence. The

2. HISTORY OF HORROR...
Horror films go back as far as the onset of films, over 100 years. We use
our vivd imaginations- we watch them because of the fun factor in being
scared. The earliest horror films were gothic in goth style- meaning that
they were usually set in spooky old mansions, characters were normally
supernatural ranging from vampires, demented mad men, mad
scientists, monsters and werewolves (good against evil)

3. THE PLOT...
The basic plot of the film is based upon a girl who went ‘missing’ a number of
years ago. The beginning shows innuendos of what happened to her. With her
being filmed by someone who is anonyms but clearly is a male. She will look
vulnerable but content with the person who is filming suggesting she is under
someone’s control. Missing posters of her will be ripped up showing that the
person who is recording her does not want her to be found or her life isn’t
important. The film is based around chain mails. But unlike ordinary ones this
one actually comes true (as shown in the first 2 minutes of the film) if you do
not pass it on. We are having a male teenager as the main character for the
beginning which introduces us to the whole film, he will be the first victim of the
chain mail and will hopefully be anticipating and hook people will the
intenseness of the ‘unknown’

The locations for the film will differ to
-My house
- Outside (when going dark)
- The teenagers bedroom
These locations are decided as they are simple and hopefully will be
effective.
PLANNING...
Props that are used are based around ‘The ring’ our girl will wear a white
dress as it suggests innocence and will carry a teddy bear- this will
confuse the audience to why she has the teddy bear as she is not a
toddler, is it for comfort? A source of protection?

5. PRODUCTION COMPANYS...
Film4 is the chosen production company for our film. This is due to their
interest in low budget, English films. They have produced films that have
became successful well known films such as ‘This is England’ ‘Sean of the
dead’ and ‘Inbetweeners movie’ and small films such as ‘Wish you was here’
and ‘submarine’. This would be good for our film as we do not want it to be a
worldwide national phenomenon, but successful enough to be played on either
film4 or channel 4, which are both owned by Channel Four Television
Corporation. This will also help our advertisements, Film4 could advertise on
their website, as well as, Channel 4, E4, E4+1, Channel 4OD, Film4.
