MY PASSION (OR WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT?)
My passion is to champion the improving of processes; both manufacturing and non-manufacturing. Have achieved hands on results in manufacturing industries from aerospace to electronics to consumer products and from various types of processes from fabrication to machining to electronic assembly to both heavy and light manufacturing. Additionally a further demonstration of my ability includes both high volume and low volume manufacturing and both small to large companies.
Using lean and project management skills, along with team coaching, transformed manufacturing operation into self-managed work teams resulting in defects being reduced by 80%, cycle times from 10 weeks to 2.5 weeks and overhead costs reduced by 20%.
Non- manufacturing include starting up my own auto repair business and applying my lean/continuous improvement skills to both establishing and improving the complete range of processes necessary for running a successful business.
Applying the same learned skills to my non-manufacturing business. Developed, and continuously improved, customer estimating, financial, scheduling, supply chain, inventory management, human resources, maintenance and auto repair processes.
The approach to all this improvement has been to build and coach teams to be able to use these skills as well as hands on working with these teams and/or individuals to lead them through this learning process. These skills include those under the Lean Six Sigma umbrella as well as the Toyota Production System, JIT, Kanban, Total Quality Management etc.
Since my experience has successfully included both manufacturing and non-manufacturing then it can be successfully applied to any industry that has complex processes such Health Care, Hospitality etc. All processes can be measured as to their effectiveness by the following metrics of quality, cost, cycle time and customer service. We all have suffered the affects of poorly conceived processes in Health Care and the Hospitality Industries, for example.
