MY ORAL PRESENTATION By Mora
I am going to talk about “The Rolling Stones”
The Rolling Stones is a British rock band from
London. The band was founded in April 1962 by
Brian Jones, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill
Wyman, Ian Stewart and Charlie Watts. Brian Jones
was fired in June 1969, dying three weeks later,
being replaced by the guitarist Mick Taylor, who
would leave the band in 1975 and be replaced by Ron
Wood. Bill Wyman's retirement in 1993 included
bassist Darryl Jones who, while playing with the
band since recording the Voodoo Lounge album in
1994, is not an official member. They are considered
one of the biggest and most influential bands in the
history of rock. Being the group that laid the
foundations of contemporary rock. Counting from its
beginnings with the favor of the critic, some of its
materials are considered among the best of all
times; Among them Beggars Banquet (1968), Let It
Bleed (1969), Sticky Fingers (1971) and perhaps his
best work, Exile on Main Street. (1972). In 1989
they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame, and in 2004 the American magazine Rolling
Stone placed them in 4th place on their list of Top
50 Artists of All Time. No rock group to date has
held such a long-standing and still globally
recognized track record as The Rolling Stones;
With Jagger, Richards and Watts as active founding
members, remain the longest-running band in rock
history. His first productions included versions and
themes of blues and rock and roll. Nevertheless, in
the course of their trajectory they added stylistic
touches of other genres to adapt to each epoch.
Despite leading with The Beatles (with whom they
always rivaled in popularity) the "British invasion" in
the early years of the decade 1960 was not until the
launch of "I Can not Get No Satisfaction" in 1965
when they reached international stardom and
established
themselves as one of the most popular bands on the
music scene. Today, the band has released twenty-
five studio albums and placed thirty-two singles in
the top ten in the UK and the United States. Total
sales of The Rolling Stones are estimated between
200 and 250 million records, making them one of
the most successful artists of all time.
Now that you know a little bit more of the rolling
stones I´m going to ask you some questions and you
will have to answer them,Let´s start:
1-When was the band founded?
2-In which place did the american magazine put
them in their top 50 artist in all times?
3-With what band did they fight for popularity?
4- How many sales did the rolling stones sell?
¡Hope you enjoyed my oral
presentation...! ¡BYE!
