Noakhali is a district in southeastern Bangladesh located in the Chittagong Division. It was established in 1821 under the name Bhulua and renamed Noakhali in 1868. The district is divided into 9 upazilas and sites of interest include the Bazra Shahi Mosque, an important archaeological site, Rajgonj Mia Bari, and the Gandhi Ashram established after riots in 1946.
