As a film director, I have always been awestruck by the magic of animation. Animation, a medium once considered solely for the amusement of children, has undergone a significant transformation over the years. Its evolution from a rudimentary form of entertainment to a sophisticated form of storytelling has stirred my creativity and expanded my vision, offering limitless possibilities in the realm of cinematic storytelling.
In the vast landscape of cinema, stories have been told, retold, and reimagined in countless ways. At the heart of this narrative evolution lies the concept of a "remake". A successful remake allows us to revisit cherished tales through a fresh lens, often reflecting a different era's perspective or harnessing the power of advanced technology. Yet, the question remains, what makes a remake successful? Today, we will delve deeper into this subject, identifying the key ingredients that contribute to the success of a remake.

My final performance evaluation
1. My Final Performance Evaluation
This performance was so nerve wrecking in the beginning I was
frightened it felt like my heart was going to pop out of my mouth,
although I did stay calm in my beginning freeze frame which I was
proud of. Which made even more nervous was seeing all the people
walk in and imagining how long it would take them to take their seats
as I had to stay in that freeze frame until everyone was seated. This did
make me nervous however as it never took that long it made me more
confident and stay in my freeze frame to get the grade I deserve.
After everybody took their seat the performance began starting from
the whistling which accordingly went accurate and precise which I was
pleased about, however now became the clicking which turned out
again precise and in tune from my point of view so I was satisfied about
this and contented to my cast members as well. After doing the
whistling and clicking I had to stay in my freeze frame until my queue
came on so the prisoners started it off and done their part really good
so that put more pressure on me and the rest of the guards.
This is where my queue began which made me even more nervous then
I was, was when the spotlight hit me as I was in the front middle
however I couldn’t let down my group so I gave it my all. The nerve
wrecking part was when I had to walk up towards the audience doing
the guard dance because that’s when I started to move however when
the dance was finished I was happy and also less nervous to do it the
second time and when we done it the second time we all delivered a
good performance. I thought that I done well doing my bit in the
singing, dancing and being precise within the timing. Although there
were some tuning problems with others in the group however other
from that everything else went according to plane; the dancing and the
timing.
2. After the ‘Welcome song’ it came scene one which was the scene
introducing the newbie’s into the prison cell and obviously if entering in
the prison they are not going to have a nice welcoming. I wasn’t in this
scene however it did go good as everyone was loud saying their lines,
everyone was in time with their lines and gave a good performance,
although feedback I would give would be for the newbie’s to look more
scared and for Carla’s gang to look more vicious like they have been in
prison for years.
Secondly came scene two where it was a scene to introduce both
characters the head ‘Mrs. Sullivan’ and the lick up to Mr. Watson who is
Boris. This scene was a flirtatious scene showing the bad side of Mrs.
Sullivan and the unintelligent side of Boris. Mrs. Sullivan practically
flirted with Boris and so he listened to anything she said. From my point
of view from staying in my freeze frame, I found it a very funny and
entertaining scene the hard part of the scene was when I had to stay in
my freeze frame and not laugh because I had to stay serious so I was
kicking myself not to laugh. After the comedy and flirtatious part of the
scene came the part where Yasmin was introduced to Mrs. Sullivan
from Mr. Watson, this is where you find out about the shy and sensitive
side of Yasmin as well as the romantic and flirtatious side of Mr.
Watson and Mrs. Sullivan.
Now this is where I had to prepare for my first acting scene, which was
to be the character Mr. Moorland who is a therapist in the prison. To
get ready for this scene I had to change into my costume from a guard
to a therapist , I had to be so quite doing this so people still focus on
scene two which was going on and as I had metal hand cuffs they would
have rattled allot thats why I had to be slow changing the costume. This
did go well as I solved the problem by not taking of the hand cuffs and
simply placing the handcuffs into my pocket and just taking of the bat
and also just to put on the therapist jacket so this went high-quality and
according to plan.
3. To get myself started for scene three, I had to go into a freeze frame as
the therapist being frustrated looking at his watch. Firstly in the scene I
had to walk up and down and looking on each side looking again
frustrated and confused from where the prisoners are because the
session already started and they where late. So I had to continuously
show my facial expressions being fed up and looking at my watch as I
was fed up. Additionally to this I had to go and pick up the box that was
left over in the previous scene and place it where I would sit in the scene
as Mr. Moorland.
This is where the acting started I had to be frustrated when the
prisoners coming in so saying ‘Hurry Up!’ and other lines relating to me
being frustrated however as I’m a therapist and I want to have a
connection to the prisoners I have to be pleasant as well. So I had to
give a pleasant welcoming to the prisoners and be obviously frustrated
when they talk over me and feel like giving up however I can’t because
my job is to help them. The one thing I was nervous about while doing
this scene is if I forgot my lines and forgot the steps to say ‘Respect is
the key to success’ on top of the prop box. Which went according to plan
and the acting achieved the main purpose of my character ‘Mr.
Moorland’ to be frustrated at times while being really kind and
stressed. I meet up to my aim when doing this scene and being Mr.
Moorland and meeting up to these conventions; being serious, friendly
and frustrated at times through facial expressions and the way I talked
and responded to the prisoners. At the end of the scene I was hoping I
never forgot the right exit I had to go to which I did get right at the end
which I was pleased about.
4. Now came scene four which I wasn’t in however in the next two scenes I
was coming again so during does scenes I was getting changed into
‘Zak’ Carla’s boyfriend costume which was to put my orange jumper on
and my era hat this is because my character was to be a teenager who
likes to rap so that costume connotes to both of does factors needed.
Both of does scenes went well and good however the reason why I’m not
commenting about the scenes was because I was behind a set design as
we couldn’t be seen when the scene was going on so I can’t comment on
how the performance went because I never saw it. So everything
revolves around both scenes four and five.
5. Scene six began and as from the beginning I still couldn’t see because I
was behind the set design however I do know what it is about, it’s a
flashback scene from where Carla’s boyfriend cheated on her with a girl
called Kate who got stabbed Carla and assistance from Nicole and
Nicole never wanted this to happen so it broke the trust in their
friendship. The beginning of my part where I had to run to Carla and
confront her about my feelings to her, which went good and according
to plan how I wanted it to be like which was not to be nervous and to
show Carla I am serious and upset. Secondly came the rap which I was
nervous about in the beginning because if I went to fast and mumbled
the words up, however I never and everything went on track through
my facial expressions, eye contact with Carla and the tone of rapping.
The thing I was so happy about while doing this rap was the fact when I
looked at the audience and my head of year smiled at me and gave me
the thumbs up showing that I done a good job after doing the rap I went
back into my freeze frame and changed back into being a guard . While
I was in my freeze frame I saw the acting in the scene and it did turn out
good and according to plan so thumbs up to the cast and myself. After
this I had to get ready for scene six and become the guard (Patrick).
6. Scene 7 came and this scene was about the audience knowing the
guards and their personalities, in the beginning of this scene I never
started in it as I had to stay in my freeze frame being a guard entering
in the room. The freeze frame turned out to be good and this time I
wasn’t nervous which went well. Now came the acting the guards done
their bit well and at full potential however the only feedback I would
give back would be to look actually drunk so meaning confused and not
knowing what’s going on when talking to eachother. This is where I
entered in looking confused out of mind and not knowing that’s going
on, I thought this went well and I was pleased with the performance I
have by looking confused through the tone of my voice and my facial
expressions. I thought I done this scene well and played my character
well as I had to have a Irish accent on which from my point of view I
thought I done well. The part of the scene which stood out to me the
most is where I had to stop the fight between Mr. Chandra and Joe and
where I had to pick up Mr. Chandra and Boris. Doing this I had to look
fed up and annoyed, which again I thought I done well doing however I
could have put a bit more anger in the tone of my voice when I was
being fed up. After doing that the guards had to exist and the scene was
finished off with a romantic duet from Mr. Watson and Mrs. Sullivan
which again went excellent and according to plan.
Now came scene eight where I was in just for the begging though
serving the food to the prisoners when doing this I had to be angry,
frustrated and not in the mood as I was doing work. After doing this I
had to exist by turning my back showing I wasn’t in the scene anymore.
I thought my part in the beginning went reasonable as it was just a
short bit of the scene. I couldn’t see the rest of the scene as my back was
turned however I did hear all the prisoners cheering ‘Fight! Fight!’ as
there was a argument going on between Carla and Yasmin however
then came Nicole to protect Yasmin and fight Carla. I thought that part
of the scene went good and now came the bit where I had to handcuff to
prisoners and take them back to their prisoner cells. In consideration I
done this excellent as I stayed angry, shouting at the prisoners through
frustration and showed my anger through my facial expressions and
the tone of my voice.
7. Scene nine is where the prisoners confronted Carla about her being a
lieing about killing someone, what I really loved about this scene was
the use of lighting in cross cutting. This went good and looked at
performance quality which I was pleased about. I thought this scene
went good however I am going to give fed back on the prisoners they
had to look more vicious and seem more vicious however Khatra did
stand out for me through the projection of her voice shouting at Carla, I
thought that went well by making her look vicious. So this scene went
well and looked excellent from my point of view whilst being in my
freeze frame.
Scene ten was about Chandra getting persuaded from the prisoner to
ask out Mrs. Sullivan so they can ditch his class, I thought that part of
the scene went well however the part of the scene which stood put to me
was when Chandra realised she was dating Mr. Watson and he was
heartbroken and had to cry out his feelings. I was actually emotional at
this scene however I couldn’t show it or I would get marked down. I
thought Chandra done a smashing job being emotional in the scene; I
know this because the audience showed empathy towards him. This
was probably because of the emotional music which played and
through his crying as well.
Scene eleven came where it was a scene showing the funny side to Joe as
he was singing in the rain, I thought his performance was
considerating however he could of been louder and put a bit more effort
other from that he done a really good job. I thought the acting in scene
ten went good between Boris and Joe where they were back mailing
eachother and from my point of view it looked really funny and
entertaining so I thought they done this really good at high quality.
8. Now it came the last scene which was scene twelve where Nicole and
Carla became friends and trusted eachother again and through this
scene the prisoners had to hug Nicole a good bye as she was leaving the
prison to do A-Levels. I thought that part of the scene went good and all
the actors done their bit good and at high quality. Now came the final
song which I choreographed for the guards as well as the first dance I
thought that the performance through the singing and the dancing
went well and the bit that I really was looking foward to do was
throwing the hats at the end. Which went good and then the
performance finished with a bow to the audience and congratulating
eachother and staying in does freeze frames while the audience where
going out, when the audience went out the music stopped playing and I
gave hugs to everyone and we were pleased to the outstanding
performance we gave!
THE END!
Now thats what you call and Evaluation!
