The family has traditions of decorating the Christmas tree one day before Christmas Eve and making twelve dishes for the Christmas dinner. Everybody meets at the grandmother's house at six o'clock where the uncle reads from the Bible before they share wafer and dinner. After dinner they open presents, though the author is unsure what to buy as presents for everyone in the family make them happy.
