the audience know before the artist even starts

identify the genre. Long shots are used in music videos as they give
the viewing audience a full length body shot of the singer performing
and it also shows the location. Mid Shots are used to show the half
body shot of the singer which is used whist performing and Close
Ups are used to figure dominate. Camera angles are important
within music videos because of what they mean. A Low angle shot
shows the authority of the performers and it shows its their video. A
High angle shot gives the viewer a sense of power and we feel above
that certain performer these are commonly used in sad songs.
Within movement a dolly is sued to move with the singer to catch
their momentum and to keep up with the flow of the song also
tracking shots play a major role in music videos because change the
view points by moving, The camera rushes past and the tracking
shot always attempts to match the energy of the song.

up from the artist/band performing the song.

story being portrayed.
· Combination- When the video cuts between footage
of the artist performing and a story.
· Cameo- This is when the artist makes an
appearance in the music video.
