This document outlines the rules and questions for a music trivia quiz. It has 3 rounds: Round 1 has 8 beginner questions mostly about modern music. Round 2 features 3 image-based questions testing knowledge of album covers and famous graves. Round 3 has 10 questions focusing on rock music from the 1960s-1990s. Correct answers receive points while incorrect answers result in point deductions. The quiz encourages looking for hints in bold text and having fun with the trivia.

2. RULES
• The usual scoring for the questions is +10/0 unless mentioned otherwise.
• Round 1 has 8 questions which are mostly related to relatively modern music.
• Round 2 has 3 questions with series of images that can relate to all kind of music.
• Round 3 has 10 questions mostly relates to the period from 1960s to 90s. Good times!
• Part points are provided wherever possible so be hyper energetic. (But don’t stand up on
your seats)
• Questions have a lot of hints, so look for whatever is written in bolds. (look, and then read it
too.)
• Kendrick Lamar won Pulitzer, Teen spirit was a deodorant and Beatles smoked pot for the
first time with Bob Dylan. These are facts and there are no questions related to them.

3. Round 1
The beginner’s music round.

4. 1.X was composed using Logic Pro, a application created by Apple Inc.
For the "long chorus vocals" in the song, artist created a "robotic,
stair-stepping pitch-bend effect”. The lyrics of the original
composition were a mixture of 3 languages but later Spanish was
also added to justify with the artist’s Latin American musical touch.
X was originally composed for a 2008 film Y but Y’s director felt that
the song was soft and too subtle for the required scene and thus
rejected it. The artist then polished his composition and was finally
released in Z’s album few months later which led to it’s huge
recognition.

7. 2. Gazzy Garcia (born August 17, 2000), is an American rapper and
record producer. He is best known for his song X, which peaked at
number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, as well as other songs
such as "D Rose" and "Boss“. The song X has been certified platinum.
In July 2018, he released a music video which features Charlie Sheen.
X was the shortest song to reach Hot 100 top 10 in 42 years. Earlier,
the record was held by “Mr. Jaws”.
With Diplo and French Montana, he recorded “Welcome to the
party” for album Y.

10. 3. X has been certified platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for
moving at least one million equivalent units in the U.S. That level of success was expected of
Malone’s newest studio offering, as he has quickly become one of the most successful new
names in the genre, but few could have predicted it would happen almost immediately.
Before X arrived in full, the title was already eligible for a gold certification, which is awarded
to a collection when it has shifted at least 500,000 equivalent units. Thanks to the incredible
popularity of lead single “Rockstar,” which owned the Hot 100 songs chart last year for eight
consecutive weeks, X had already reached that half million-unit threshold before Malone
dropped the full album.
However, the album that was fastest to receive the platinum certification was by Barbadian
singer Y titled Z, released in 2016 because Samsung bought selling writes in just two weeks.

13. 4. X was released as part of the 2015 album Y and it immediately caught up with
the audience due to its soft tone and soulful background score.
However, the lyrics of the song depict a struggle between mind and heart. In the
song, one of the characters is dressed up in red to depict the heart and the
other in cream beige – the colour of mind.
There is a part in the music video where the character playing heart caresses the
other’s head thus depicting the heart’s attempt to stimulate the brain. The
heart’s attempt apparently do not go in vain and during the end of the movie Y,
the character depicting mind wears a red bandana depicting the triumph of
heart over mind.

16. 5. When X revealed cover art for his album, So Help me God, it once again
triggered controversies. Some said that the symbol represented Virgin Mary and
the album was a tribute to his mother while some said it was an illuminati
reference.
Interestingly, David Bowie’s album Y is said to predict X’s success as Bowie is seen
standing in front of a sign that reads ____(X) on the cover art. Bowie’s last
album before death, Z also discusses death of a musical icon (Bowie) and rise of
a Z (X).
X later retitled the album as _____ which was released a short time after Z and
was widely popular.

19. 6. X is a concept album by Coldplay, and its content follows a story throughout.
According to the lead of this British rock band, the album is “based on a love
story with a happy ending,” in which two protagonists living in an oppressive,
dystopian, urban environment, meet one another through a gang and fall in
love. The album follows ____, a "silencer", a soldier in an army tasked to hunt
and track down "sparkers", people who harness light and energy and use it to
create sparks, comparable to graffiti in real life. He encounters _______, the
sparker most wanted by Major Minus. Through ______, _______ discovers his
sparker abilities and his affiliation with the Car Kids, a major sparker faction
founded by _____'s parents, Aiko and Lela

22. 7. In 2002, X did an interview with Diane Sawyer to promote her then
upcoming album. During the prime time special, X spoke about her drug
use and her marriage, among other topics. When asked about the ongoing
drug rumours, she replied, “First of all, Let’s get one thing straight. Crack is
cheap. I make too much money to ever smoke crack. We don’t do that.
Crack is wack”.
After X’s tragic death in 2012, it was rumoured that her death was
predicted by Y in her video, “We found love”. Interestingly, relationship of
X and Bobby Brown is often paralleled with Y’s relationship with Z which
was also clouded by domestic abuse and drugs.

25. 8. X is an annual four-day music festival based in Chicago, Illinois at Grant Park. X is considered
one of the largest and most iconic music festivals in the world and one of the longest running in
the United States. Conceived and created in 1991 by Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a
farewell tour for his band, X ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003.
The word X dates from a late 19th century/early 20th century American idiomatic phrase
meaning "an extraordinary or unusual thing, person, or event; an exceptional example or
instance".
In time the term also came to refer to a large lollipop.

video was one of the most expensive music video made at that time
as it involved building a white chapel in middle of a desert.
Y’s frontman _____ was infamous as a homophobic and a racist. So,
in 1992 MTV VMAs award, A who was the frontman of a famous
grunge rock band B, spat on one of the pianos set up for Y’s
performance. However, to A’s horror, Sir Elton John ended up
playing that piano.

pages of various other commands used in Unix.

This is a tribute to a famous song X by a Swedish band Y
widely popular in 70s and 80s.

71. 3. There is a widely popular conspiracy theory centred around 1966 that
involves the four member boy band X. This conspiracy theory believes for a
certain event ____ to have occurred.
It is validated by the cover art of 1969 album Y which shows the four members
dressed up with their outfits representing their roles: white (clergyman), jeans
(grave digger), black (undertaker) and barefoot (dead man).
Another source of this controversy is from the cover of 1967 album, Z in which
one of the member’s of the band X is holding woodwind instrument unlike the
others who hold brass. There are open palm at the back of this member’s head
suggesting priest blessing. At the end of the cover, this character is the only one
facing his back to the camera.

74. 4. X was a notorious British Punk Rock Band which gained popularity when the
drunk guitarist ______ used the f-word twice on a live interview. Their contract
with EMI was cancelled and later the released a diss track titled “EMI”. A&M
signed them but contract was cancelled because the band members destroyed
the labels office while celebrating the record deal. Eventually they released “God
save the queen” under Virgin Records which was criticised as it was brutally
critical of the Queen.
X are also famous for a gig that they did in Lesser Free Trade Hall, Manchester
which was documented in David Nolan’s book, I swear I was there.

drums what Jimi Hendrix was to the guitar.”
The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame : First 25 years said, With the death of X in
1978, rock arguably lost its single greatest drummer.

83. 7. What is considered to be X’s magnum opus, Y makes use of voices
throughout the album. These voices were generated by questions _______ had
written up on cue cards and were subsequently asked to roadies, doormen,
members of the band Wings, and anyone available at Abbey Road. The

violent and were you in the right?” to “What does the phrase ‘Y’ mean to you?”

89. 9. The X is a wall in Prague, Czech Republic. Once a normal wall, since the 1980s
it has been filled with X-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Y’s songs.
In 1988, the wall was a source of irritation for the communist regime of Gustáv
Husák. Young Czechs wrote grievances on the wall and in a report of the time this
led to a clash between hundreds of students and security police on the
nearby Charles Bridge. The movement these students followed was described as
“X-ism" and Czech authorities described these people variously as alcoholics,
mentally deranged, sociopathic, and agents of Western capitalism.
The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of X is long
lost under layers of new paint. Even when the wall was repainted by some
authorities, by the next day it was again full of poems and flowers. Today, the
wall represents a symbol of global ideals such as love and peace.

92. 10. The X was riding high following the release of its debut album in 1969. Y and Z became
instant rock heroes and set out on their first American tour. Like the Beatles, when the band
rolled through Seattle, X chose to stay at the Edgewater Hotel. And like the Beatles, they fished
from their windows.
What happened next is permanently etched in rock lore. There are several accounts of what
actually happened. But everyone agrees that the “mud shark incident” included naked
groupies, fish, and body cavities. Cole (X’s road manager) is quoted in the X biography
‘__________' as saying, “A pretty young groupie with red hair was disrobed and tied to the
bed. X then proceeded to stuff pieces of shark into her vagina and rectum.”
The fishing kerfuffle earned the group a lifetime ban from the Edgewater Hotel. Shortly after
X’s visit, the Edgewater Hotel ended their “fish from your window” campaign.
In 1977, eight years later, X returned to Seattle and quietly checked into the Edgewater Hotel.
On this visit, the band amused themselves by tossing televisions out of their hotel room
windows into Puget Sound, then watching them bobbing in the water 15 feet below.
