order to create multimedia, you should know its different parts.
Every element is essential in providing great ways to explain or
present information.

• A text is a basic element of multimedia. It
composes words or phrases to convey an idea,
information or message to the users.

Video refers to the recording and processing of
moving pictures and sound. It is often used for

concept, idea, or topic. You encounter this element

access different websites; numerous multimedia can be accessed for
leisure or educational activities. The following are some examples of
sources where internet users are able to utilize different multimedia
content for various purposes.
1. Music-on-demand (MoD)
Music-on-demand (MoD) is a service that allows platforms to publish and
stream digital music online. It allows users to listen to their favorite
songs across various genres or download it for offline access. Examples
of some podcast platforms include: Apple Music, Google Play Music,
Spotify, and Soundcloud.
2. Video-on-demand (VoD)
Video-on-demand (VoD) is a service for publishing online video content
on various video platforms. Users can subscribe and find different tv-
shows, movies, documentaries, news, and other video segments that
they want to watch whenever they want. Users may download videos
for offline viewing. A lot of users consider video-on-demand as a primary
source of entertainment and pastimes. Examples of some VoD platforms
include: Amazon Prime Video, iFlix, Netflix, YouTube, and iWant.
3. Webcast
A webcast refers to a live video broadcast over the internet to an
audience. It is used to stream a lecture, webinar (seminar that is
available online), or any other events using web platforms. It also allows
the viewers to interact with the speaker by posting their comments or
responses to live questions, chats, or surveys. You might encounter this
type of post on various social media platforms. Examples of webcast
platforms include Facebook Live, Linkedin Live, Youtube Live, and
YouNow.
4. Online Courseware
Online courseware are learning materials designed to provide different
interactive activities, presentations and tutorials, tests, and other
educational resources to students through the web or smartphone
application. These are the different e-learning platforms used to deliver
education online commonly known as distance learning. It provides an
alternative mode of learning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. People can
also utilize this platform to take short courses and get a certificate after
finishing the course. Examples of some online courseware platforms
include: Coursera, edX, Skillshare, Udemy, and Teachable.
5. Online Games
These are computer games that are played over the internet through the
use of a computer, gaming console, and smartphones. This provides
entertainment and enjoyment for people of all ages. Aside from the fact
that it is engaging and interesting, it offers benefits that will teach you
the importance of critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
Online games pose some disadvantages that can affect your physical and
social health, so it is a must that you are aware of your limitations.
Examples of some online games include: Call of Duty, League of
Legends, Dota 2, Mobile Legends, Overwatch, and Pokemon Go.
