Topic: Field Activities

ITRODUCTION
Field work is the process of observing
and collecting data about people,
cultures, and natural environments.
Field work is conducted in the wild of
our everyday surroundings rather than
in the semicontrolled environments of
a lab or classroom.
FIELD ACTIVITIES
Teaching and learning can become
inherently spontaneous and student –
centered when moved from the
confines of the classroom into the
world at large.
From the collaborative learning
atmosphere that results from the
unique relationships developed
outside the classroom, to the deep
learning that occurs when students
must put into practice
“in the real world” what they have
theorized about from behind a desk,
Field experiences are unmatched in
their learning potential. Field
experiences early in a students career
can be formative and can inspire
students to continue in a field
REQUIRED ASPECTS
To move classroom to atmosphere
Taking childs to out
One day trip ,art gallery, museum etc..
Must be related to curriculum
Student medical insurance
Conduct a pre visit to site
Permission with head of the institution
50-60 km range
Selecting an educational site
Choose an affordable destination
Gaint permission on parents
There are many ways to make
learning extend outside the
classroom
Field trips
Service learning and community
engagement
Study abroad
Technology outside the classroom
Peripatetic pedagogy
Place-based learning
Assessment of field experiences
Resources for research on experiential
1.FIELD TRIPS
A trip made by students or research
workers to study something at first
hand.
A trip by students to gain first hand
knowledge away from the classroom,
as to a museum, factory, geological
area or environment of certain plamts
and animals
Service learning and community
engagement
One way to escape the confines of the
classroom and to afford students
opportunities to grow and to serve the
surrounding community. In its simplest
form this may involve field trips into a
community where students will have
occasions to have discussions with
community members or local experts
on an issue related to course content
TECHNOLOGY OUTSIDE THE
CLASSROOM
Today’s smart phones and tablet
devices make it relatively easy for
students to bring digital
technology with them when they
leave the classroom
Place based learning
Places have both natural and cultural
histories, which therefore lend
themselves to examination by all
disciplines . field experiences and
research are at the core of many of
the natural and social science
Other field activities
• Group projects
• Visits
• Field trips
• Excursion
• Collections
• Nature study
• Interview
• Observation etc….
CONCLUSION
This field work is
comprehensive in filling the
gap between the theoretical
and practical studies
