Kira Kiko Lian provides an October monthly summary. She has received a new laptop allowing her to work remotely and have more productive office hours. She has created list-serves for transform faculty, students, and general interests. Transform faculty member Claudia Geist recently published an article in policyforum.net titled "A Taxable Luxury? Why feminine hygiene products should be exempt from sales tax". Three new faculty positions in Pacific Island Studies, American Indian Studies, and African American Studies have been posted with over 100 applications submitted. Kira has also been planning for an upcoming intellectual launch event including a distinguished lecture and follow-up seminars and luncheons.

Electronic Advancements
I've recently received a new laptop, with which I
can now work remotely, providing me the
opportunity for more productive office hours and
work from home.

I've jumped on the OED bandwagon and began
using slack, a teamwork app that streamlines
communication and increases my efficiency. I've
also integrated this with software that limits my
social media time, and task timelines that function
with my outlook.

3 new faculty positions have been posted, Pacific
Island Studies is underway, and the applications
for American Indian Studies and African
American Studies are advertised to have been
under review by November 1st.
All together for these 3 positions, over 100
applications have been submitted!
