2. People want to bloom, life matters, and to be loved.
Most of us feel really unfinished, lacking, unresolved.
3. I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my
prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because
of your partnership in the gospel from the first day
until now, being confident of this, that he who began
a good work in you will carry it on to completion until
the day of Christ Jesus.
4. It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since
I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or
defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share
in God’s grace with me.
Philippians 1:3-7
8. Our lives need God
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock
and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks
receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks,
the door will be opened.” Matt 7:7-8
9. “Now - here is my secret: I tell it to you with an
openness of heart that I doubt I shall ever achieve
again, so I pray that you are in a quiet room as you
hear these words. My secret is that I need God - that I
am sick and can no longer make it alone. I need God
to help me give, because I no longer seem capable of
giving; to help me be kind, as I no longer seem
capable of kindness; to help me love, as I seem
beyond being able to love.” Douglas Coupland (Life after God)
11. God’s Work is done IN You
God’s work is not superficial, temporary or easily forgotten
12. But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts
into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an
orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about
life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a
sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a
basic holiness permeates things and people. We find
ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force
our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.
Galatians 5:22-23
13. God’s Work is Completed if you stay Connected
You do the CONNECTING God does the PERFECTING
14. God’s Work is Completed if you stay Connected
“Let us consider how we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting
together, as some are in the habit of doing, but
encouraging one another” Hebrews 10:24-25
