This document outlines a 6-week lesson plan on photomontage and collage. Each week focuses on a different artist's work and technique for students to emulate. In week 1, students define collage and make their own using various materials. Week 2 introduces photo montage, with activities responding to specific artists. Later weeks cover propaganda, still life photography incorporating magazines, and discussions of modernist and contemporary uses of the techniques. After the group discussion, students write a short definition of what
they think collage is or develop a group definition.
Activity
Pupils create a collage using the definition of collage as a starting
point. Give pupils no restrictions in terms of size and materials.
