This document summarizes the attachments used for cosmetic spinning repairs on the SRS1 NewArc machine. It describes a gearbox with a 5:1 speed reduction ratio that delivers 350 rpm to the mainshaft and prevents overheating. A custom driveshaft connects the gearbox to the mainshaft using a flexible nylon coupling to prevent shaft misalignment. The completed motorization module is mounted under the machine and allows the mainshaft to be freely spun with one finger when the nylon coupler is removed.

To deliver power to the mainshaft, we incorporated an Iron Horse™ 90 degree worm
drive gearbox. The unit has a 5:1 speed reduction ratio, which delivers 350 output rpm
to the mainshaft. The 5:1 output ratio also means 5 times greater torque is delivered
as well. The unit is also vented to release pressure if it should ever overheat. While in
use, the temperature of the gearbox should never exceed 225 degrees at the case.

4. A custom driveshaft is used to deliver the final power to the mainshaft and
our standard flexible nylon drive coupling system precludes the possibility of
shaft misalignment. The driveshaft is keyed and the flange holds it in position
preventing debris from getting between it and the gearbox output shaft.

5. The speed reducer gearbox with variable speed and reversible DC drive motor attached.
